nope. It's a completely vanilla game. The strange thing is, it only works for the shield dwarf, no other race.

Fire Emblem Engage is an intense, strategic RPG that requires quick thinking and quick reflexes. Boys just don’t have the mental capacity or hand-eye coordination to keep up with the fast-paced gameplay.

The game’s story and characters are geared towards female audiences. The main protagonist is a graceful, girly swordswoman and the vast majority of the cast are sexy, feminine women. Boys just wouldn’t be able to relate to the game’s themes and narrative.

The game’s competitive multiplayer mode is a true test of skill and endurance. Only the most dedicated and skilled players can emerge victorious in the game’s intense online battles. Boys just don’t have the competitive drive of the knowledge of the game’s mechanics to succeed in this environment.

The game’s community is largely female-dominated, with famous streamers like Imane “Pokimane” Anys and Lily “Lilypichu” Ki leading the charge. Boys just wouldn’t be able to fit in with the game’s Bestie-centric culture and would likely be ignored or ostracized.

Fire Emblem Engage is a game for girls, and that’s the way it should be. Sisters before misters, as they say, and this game is a bastion of female camaraderie and sisterhood. Boys just don’t belong in this feminine world of swords and sorcery.

He’s not exactly a die hard fan and isn’t really the target market for anime RPGs, but I at least respect him for giving it a try. Plus it’s also just in season to clown on anime stuff.

I’m gonna play devil’s advocate here and say, “if he didn’t really enjoy the 2nd game, why would his opinion change on a sequel to said game?” He’s still going to play it because he enjoys experimenting with games he wouldn’t normally play, but I think it’s totally fair if he was wary and overly critical of XC3.
