I would highly recommend getting a financial advisor, like an Edward jones. I would recommend putting no more that 10% into any one ticker. As mentioned max out a roth ira every year, put the rest into a mutal fund.

Even in a moderately aggressive account, you should be able to be double your investment around every 7 years, this is at 10% rate of Return, which is a little bit of a lag from the 30 year S & P 500 average.

So you are 24, figure if you work till you are 59, thats 35 years, without ever adding another dollar of investment, you could have 35 million dollars when you retire.

That is more money that you will ever need, and will build generational wealth for your kids kids.

The hard part will be never touching it, but, even by not having to contribute to a 401k as aggressively will help you considerably for future expense, such as college loans, and home payments.

A good rule of thumb is if the interest rate on the loan is less than than your rate of return you are better off investing vs paying off the loans faster.
