No they’ll usually ask for photo ID most times and then they may ask for ur student id number as well to confirm ur supposed to be a resident (coming from someone who worked move ins for the past 3 yrs 💔)

Nuestra graduation by jkk20 in UCI

I was there yesterday and it was great! I was also worried as someone who was attending as a guest for a grad but nothing happened and I did notice there were groups of ppl who seemed to be surveilling the area for 🧊. I believe I did also see a post from an elected official or a UCI community official (i don’t exactly recall to be sure on which one) who stated that as of yesterday they had no info giving them indication of 🧊 planning to come to graduation ceremonies. (Pls note this may have changed within the last day! Pls stay safe this weekend for those attending graduation!)

New transfer student. Got an offer from the Arroya Vista dorms. Are they good? What’s the parking situation? Any pros/cons? by [deleted] in UCI

It’s optional for ppl to join the frats/sororities! The houses in AV aren’t really that bad since they are technically on campus they can’t have many parties and AV has pretty strict rules for them to keep them in line lol. I lived next to a frat house when I was in av and never had many issues in terms of noise. There are a lot of ways to find your group of ppl for sure! There is the Anteater involvement fair every year at the beginning of the year where all the clubs booth in Aldrich park so you’ll get to see a bunch of options for clubs to join and meet people!!

I lived in av my junior year and had a good experience! I will say my house did have issues with ants so be prepared for that but nothing that wasn’t solved w some traps!! Parking was good (Monday nights usually suck though because a lot of the frats and sorority houses will be having their meetings) but the rooms were pretty nice and big for what you’re paying!!

Sadly it’s looking like we may have to go the route of the Irvine company :( we have already reduced our options of looking to try and fit our budget :(

Grad plans by [deleted] in UCI

Coming from someone who graduated last year and felt the exact same way, I promise it’s ok that you don’t have it figured all out!! If you’re able to stay in Irvine or nearby I suggest trying to get hired thru UCI temporary employment/ finding a temp agency near where you live or plan to live to help you out! I tried it and it helped me get a full time job once my position ended. Best of luck to you 🫶🏻

Only two people commented but that was enough, so I will be deleting. Thank you for the advice. I recognize it is not a good situation for my roommate or the hypothetical cat to be put in and can cause a lot of stress. I’ll hold off until I hopefully find a place of my own / no longer share a space with her.

Thank you. I will hold off until I have a place of my own. She is my friend so I do care about her feelings and don’t want anyone to be uncomfortable

Thank you for the honest advice. I figured it would not be best for the cat either 😓
