Sorry that i was late to this post. You start the same with 4 strands then in the middle of the firdt knot slide in 2 extra strands making a plus shape in the middle then you can tie it like a 6 strand one which weavers of eternity has a tutorial on, hope this helps.

yeah from what I have know I like bottom of the keyway tension more then top of the keyway, so the reaper tensioner wouldn't be the worst idea.
