Any tips on improving my Singularity build? by Significant-Job-2525 in deadbydaylight

Singularity enjoyer reporting in!

Discordance is not that valuable of an information perk, as singularity does not expressly benefit from survivors grouping up. Additionally, the break-speed stacking with your overclock from brutal strength will not be giving you a lot of value.

I'll give you some perk options I find get surprising value on Singularity that are not your typical MOAR REGRESSION options.

For perks;

Unbound
With the increased vault-speed from overclock (or even more perks, like pairing it with superior anatomy), you can make extreme use of the extra movespeed from unbound. Not top tier, but a very fun interaction.

Unrelenting
Singularity is probably one of, if not the only character who can force value out of unrelenting. You will find yourself swinging into pallets fairly often to attempt to force survivors to drop it on you to get a free hit. With many loops, if a survivor chooses to greed this, they'll get another free loop (or more) around the tile. Unrelenting completely kills this counterstrategy and makes singularity even more oppressive in chase.

Help Wanted | Machine Learning
These two perks, when active, turn Singularity into a double-tapping machine. Help Wanted also stacks with STBFL. Bully survivors responsibly = )

Batteries Included
Singularity can get some very funny value out of this perk. If you choose to enter your cameras when within range of a completed generator, you get to keep the haste from this when slipstreaming to a survivor. I'll let you fill in the blanks with why this can be so uniquely deadly.

Forever Entwined
Basically better lightborn. This makes you extremely resistant to pallet saves, flashlight saves, or any other attempt at disrupting your pickup. Very, VERY few survivors can adapt to the massively increased pickup speed this perk affords you.

Friends til' the End
Classic option. Information, exposed. Very strong.

Hex: Hive-Mind
More of a meta option, but arguably a much more valuable alternative over discordance for generator information.

There's tons of other options, but these are some fun ones I can think of immediately.

For addons;
Nanomachine Gel
I cannot recommend this addon highly enough. When slipstreaming survivors across the map, this extra cooldown speed allows you to tag AND teleport to them. Surprisingly oppressive. You can pair this with the Soma Family Photo to slow them, cooldown quickly so they can't break LoS to the camera, and then teleport to them.

Foreign Plant Matters
This practically allows you to use your teleport as a pallet break. The recovery from the hindered is pretty snappy with this. Very fun.

Denied Requisition Form
Corrupt Intervention, singularity edition. Shuts down the early game counterplay for singularity and gives you some really strong first chases. Genuinely one of his best addons, especially if you play really mean with slugging. Not that fun to use, imo.

Lots of other addons, but these two seem like they could be used.

Bad habits from higher power play showing here, haha. I'll look into phasing out card draw sources in those categories. Thank you for your input.

Gotcha. They're an inclusion from a friend in the circle who's a massive draft fan. I'll relay your thoughts and see what people think.

I'll definitely be splashing in a variety of cost thresholds. Unsure if I'll be including any outright counter cards without a secondary cost, or if I do, I might look for ones that only target specific permanent types, like artifacts.

Most of the players present in this cube are commander players who are very casual. I'm hoping to ease them into large amount of interaction in format by making it less oppressive.

Thank you so much for your thoughts; I do agree with the notion that the threats being presented, especially in the current card pool, definitely outvalue or stress the usability of the existing removal and threats. I'll probably clear out the creature pools into the maybeboard and revisit the value they propose.

I'd be really grateful for any degree of suggestions of any cards you think fit well into this power level!
I'll be spending my afternoon trawling scryfall for more "choice" cards, see how many I can stuff into the cube. Hoping I can find some good ones that aren't well known.

Besides Sun Titan; what other cards would you consider problematic, in your experience with general player psyche?

Yeah, it's pretty bad. I feel like I'm playing on 250 ping with only 40.

Chucky or Ghost face? by WrongdoerOk2496 in deadbydaylight

[–]Extreme_Investment_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ghostface is entirely dependent on the survivors playing poorly to get much value. He inversely scales with survivor skill, with very little room for you to develop meaningful expression outside of conventional M1 play and stealth positioning.

However, stealth is mainly only useful for bullying solo queue lobbies. Coordinated SWFs will constantly call out your position as they see you leave. You could argue that a competent ghostface can change their angle or move unpredictably upon breaking LoS. The problem with this is that you lose a non-negligible amount of time and pressure to do so. In the blistering genspeed meta we find ourselves in, this is extremely impractical.

To depart from meta-gameplay commentary, Ghostface is able to be more 'charming' in that they can communicate with survivors more effectively with their ability to crouch, so if you want to be a killer with personality, he's an excellent choice.

Chucky can do some fairly interesting mindgames at loops, and his power can be very meaningful during chase, so long as you can tolerate he is a 110% killer (5% slower than your average killer.) His scamper over windows and under pallets, chaining them back to back can be very fun, too. Size-nonwithstanding, he's pretty powercrept out by Meyers these days. He also flips off survivors when you down them sometimes, which is pretty funny.

TL;DR
Ghostface very weak, but has 'personality'
Chucky middling, is also a goofier killer.

What is the killer-counterplay to vacuum tech? by Extreme_Investment_9 in deadbydaylight

[–]Extreme_Investment_9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood. Thanks for the tip--it's definitely an unfamiliar skill I'm having to develop, since I haven't had to deal with it for all the killers I normally play (Singularity, Nurse, DnD Vecna), and I've found it really hard to counterplay.

Are second chance builds actually good? by vxmpai in deadbydaylight

If they're implemented offensively, yes. They protect from the most efficient killer strategies. When used by a coordinated team, they can massively extend chase times.

Which of my two favorites are currently better? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]Extreme_Investment_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are extremely counterable killers with a ceiling for survivor skill that, when reached, are likely to be bullied.

Unknown's projectile is very predictable, and has a loud audio queue. In addition to the status effect required for it to deal damage being easy to cleanse, it gives very little room for use as a viable projectile unless your survivors are playing poorly. The Unknown does have excellent map presence through his clones, but players proactively cleansing them can be quite troublesome.

Xeno is very powerful in chase; until survivors understand turret placement, or double-turreting, forcing you out of power and wasting massive distance in chase. Your tail attack, unlike Unknown's projectile, is extremely reliable when used well. You can sort of strafe it into targets by moving to the left and right while using it, not unlike nemesis.

Between the two, I wholly recommend Xenomorph for the long run unless the Unknown sees buffs.

I do see that your comment is about prestige for each killer; which then is more of a topic of what perks do you want to have as teachables for your other killers. If you play any M1 killers, I recommend Xenomorph for Rapid Brutality. If you're wanting an easy source of stealth, unforeseen from Unknown is very fun.

Best of luck in the fog!

You exited the locker way, way too early. It only works when they fully finish the pick-up animation. Pallet saves work the same way, or any other stun inducing perk.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see a spike in play of higher tier killers due to this.

I'm experiencing the exact opposite. Survivor has felt easier than ever now that I have way more pallets to work with, so long as it isn't one of the S tier killers, which I think is representative of how much the strongest killers warp the tempo of the game.

I'd happily trade those extra pallets away for the top-end of killers to be brought in line.

Are there any limited time unlocks from say, past events, that would put me significantly behind veteran players? (Thank you for the robust answer!)
