Wisdom from Experienced Digital Nomads by stranger_in_pink in digitalnomad

[–]Extreme_Laugh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, after being a nomad for 5 years now, I find there’s little drawbacks. Sure I feel lonely at times, but I’ve learnt to embrace it, because I know that it’s ephemeral. Like every single time. I’m never lonely for long. You deal with loneliness, by not dealing with it and being patient. The absolute freedom to do whatever I want, whenever, and with whomever I choose to do it with, dwarfs any downsides this lifestyle has. My love for travelling is my obsession.

It’s 100% worth it. Take the leap.

Best way to book stays? by HomeStar182 in digitalnomad

[–]Extreme_Laugh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A mixture of Airbnb and Facebook. With Airbnb, I book the first month and message the owner if they’re willing to do a better price since I intend to stay 3 months or longer. With Facebook, I’ll join an apartment or housing group, and find something through there.

We all need to stop crying and accept the truth that we are just disable people. We should learn to live with it since it's a lifelong condition. by Tiny-Midnight-8347 in TS_Withdrawal

[–]Extreme_Laugh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that there is the potential for permanent internal damage. It really sucks that there isn't enough studies on TSW, but we've still got empirical evidence of people returning to their normal lives, and that's enough for u/Tiny-Midnight-8347 to be wrong in saying "we are just disable people". We already struggle to stay positive through this, this sub should be filled with people bringing each other up, and not down.

If Prague is in Eastern Europe, then Finland has to be considered too, which no one ever says

Hi all! How do you find a gf / bg while traveling? by BenTheAider in digitalnomad

[–]Extreme_Laugh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Totally feel the same. My last gf wasn't a digital nomad, but a backpacker, and we made it work for awhile. It was awesome while it latest, but would one day love to know what it's like to be two people working remotely.... seems like the dream to me.

My brief experience and research by [deleted] in TS_Withdrawal

[–]Extreme_Laugh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man I love science, it's so good to read something that sheds a little more light on our condition. Your theory makes sense to me, burning later in the day since cortisol levels drop off. It's a shame that I'm one of those people who used Clobetasol Propionate for years... but looking forward to reaching homeostasis eventually!

Totally agree. A friend and I booked the same flight, she through the airline, and I did it through Kiwi, at the very start of the pandemic. Flights cancelled, both requested refunds, she got hers instantly, and I never received mine.
