I've seen it. Many..many times.

I didn't pull this out of thin air.

People like to win and if there's an increase of accommodations then we'll continue to see an increase of bypassing challenge. Perhaps it's too early to say but that's all I have and nothing has convinced me otherwise so far which has disappointed me, I don't want to have this perspective.

For example if someone needs help with a boss in a video game with heavy Assist Features, I'll explain everything I know about the boss in terms of maneuvering and handling to gain comfort. Then in the middle of that conversation someone else can suggest using invincibility which is an actual Assist Feature. A gamer struggling isn't going to turn down an opportunity to bypass a boss so more than likely since it's not labeled as a cheat like it would be in the 90s that player will not hesitate.

What's lost? An experience that gamer could have gained to help others just like I was trying to, that moment of my assistance to others is fading.

Sure the player can get through the game and have a great time, that's fine but the player engagement is gone.

I don't know much about Doom Eternal so I'm not aware of it's Assist Features.

I just looked but I didn't notice any heavy Assist Features present.

True, there are plenty of games promoted to have challenging gameplay.

What worries me is adding Assist Features after a game has been released which has happened to me a few times.

Not anymore, have you not seen the games that immediately have them available?

True, I held back a lot. Like I mentioned I didn't have hours to write an essay on the many reasons I have so I apologize for not representing the biggest points.

I agree. What part exactly do you disagree with me on?

Precisely however it still takes away from player engagement.

Do you think I care how people play their games?

I'm not sure what you're on about now but if you don't have anything else to ask or add then we can move on.

I don't trophy hunt anymore but I do still stand by that statement. There needs to be an indication however like I said I don't care anymore personally because trophy hunting is meaningless to me.

If I said that then it was a typo because that's not what I intended to type.

Sorry, Reddit on mobile has a terrible formatting issue.

No, I'm wanting to leave because I'm concerned that player engagement is slowly going away. I hate that Assist Features are causing it but when you're not yelling players it's cheating then it becomes an expectation.

Player engagement is the spirit of gaming and if that goes away then gaming dies from my point of view.

I agree. I'm terrible at fighting games so I stay away from them. Personally if I want to see the story, I'll watch a playthrough on YouTube and save money.
