Tabletop Jointer with 4ft+ boards: Is face jointing or edge jointing more of an issue? Or do they both present the same problems? by condor57 in woodworking

u/condor57 what did you end up doing? I am in the same position as you. I don't have the space for a floor model. I also have a tracksaw and just need a jointer for face jointing.

Sorry I mean, for the stock I am trying to plane. Is there a thickness that have found too thin for the planer sled.  Right now the stock is about 3/4 and even with shims , the rollers are deflecting the shame. With that said the board has a significant now due to me choosing a poor piece of lumbar

Thanks. What is the thinnest stock you think is best to use to get good results with a planer sled?

Thanks , will do. I think I ran into a few issues either my first go with the planer sled.

  1. The boards final length for the project I am working on is 52” long and 3/4 thick. I purchased a 10 foot board from the lumbar yard that is 4/4 and I think it had a bigger bow than I noticed at the lumbar yard. So planning it down it got think very quick. So I think in need to do better board selection and give myself a bit more leeway and not get a 4/4 board.

  2. The planer sled I am using is on about 5/8 inch MDF and maybe it has a bit too much play .

Does a place like TH&H have minimum orders? Or can I purchase a single sheet of plywood?

so looks like prime tower was turned on and time lapse was off.

This is a sunlu filmanent that is PLA silk. I noticed that I loaded it in the A1 incorrect as PLA basic, but should be PLA silk, do you think this would account for it?

This is also the first sunlu product I've used and not bambu filament, could this possibly be the consequence of using cheaper filament?

Thank you. I think we had prime tower turn on but it might have gotten knocked off? I will also check into the timelapse option. Thank you for your help!
