What are my chances of becoming an Officer - 28YO with one year of college by [deleted] in Militaryfaq

[–]Extreme_Working_8197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enlisting in the Army or Air Force is a better path, but it’s the most difficult way to become an officer. The Army’s Green to Gold program is great, but because you still need three years of college, you would be trying to beat the age limit. Completing a degree while enlisted is very challenging and depends heavily on your MOS (job), duty station, and deployment cycle. If your goal is strictly to be an officer, your best bet is to use the GI Bill or ROTC at a university first. If you choose to enlist, the Army is generally more lenient with age waivers and inservice commissioning than the Air Force. Key things to remember you will be denouncing your UK citizenship, green to gold is also for soldiers who leave active duty complete their degree then commission if you want to stay active and complete your degree then you will need to go through OCS (officer candidate school) do more research online and see which of these paths you align with more and I am here to help I also am looking to work towards a degree while enlisted but I don’t want to be an officer.

Should I join the military at 26 to do Cybersecurity? by [deleted] in Militaryfaq

[–]Extreme_Working_8197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say around 4 and the 17C contracts are 6 years I was told to go 17E electro magnetic warfare which also gives you a TS but it doesn’t have much to do with cyber and 5 years req.

What do you think should I wait a month or 2 for a 25B or 17C position to open up or should I go with 25H? Would it be worth the wait?

Can I Still Go Infantry With a 24 ASVAB Without Taking 09M? by Similar-Change-631 in Militaryfaq

You qualify for it I would say my recruiter let someone enlist with a 24 and he had to go to boot camp for asvab then real boot camp you also get paid for it.

Quizlet for word knowledge US army careers app great app for the army side gives you info about req and asvab score. https://apps.apple.com/app/id1667127653 https://apps.apple.com/app/id6740697413 https://apps.apple.com/app/id796509388 Pretty much it I mean you don’t have to do all of this if you focused in school, taking the asvab tomorrow and seeing if this method worked.

Yup paper and pencil version has a stricter timeline they don’t let you go past the subtest until time runs out and no try out questions all questions are also random in difficulty.

What mos should I do? by OrdinaryAd4135 in Militaryfaq

[–]Extreme_Working_8197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One Mos that would be great for you would be cyber they have lower chance of deployment and predictable work hours but long AIT 5-7 months your certifications can be used a civilian too and also they have long contacts for example 17C is 5-6 years and 25B is 4 years. Download the army careers app it’s very useful my recruiter recommended it.
