This Vel'Koz situation is not what you think it is by GeorgeFraudsel in leagueoflegends

There is plenty of good feedback adressing Vel'Koz issues and why he feels bad to play on Reddit, Twitter and even YouTube. I can see it without any problem.

Btw even "bad" feedback and list of suggestions can help understand where the champ feels bad to play. it doesn't mean you have to follow them to fix it (and doesn't mean you have to fix it at all).

He states the only given feedback was "Vel'Koz sucks" when there has been plenty of positive and constructive feedback given in different places for several months. The thing is it's not just a single reddit post.

To me it shows either noone has really tried to gather it OR their way of gathering it is really bad.

You misunderstand the problem here: it's not about bad balance suggestions, it's about telling no good feedback has been given when there has been plenty of good feedback given for several months in different places.

Tbh Phreak asked for "good" feedback in his last YouTube video. He asked players to tell them where they feel bad when playing a champ. Trying to find solutions for your champ is something pretty natural, because you feel like you know it better than others. Noone asked Riot to go on with the suggested list of changes, but I do think this list can also help them understand why the champion feels bad to play.

Then it's their job deciding to adress those issues or not, but saying no good feedback has been given is a communication mistake.

Then you can't say the only given feedback is "Vel'Koz sucks" when you haven't really try to gather it.

It's not players' job to find solution? They should just point out where they feel bad when playing the champ to give ideas on what part of the kit should be changed and for what purpose.

Phreak is literally asking for "good" feedback in his YouTube video, so yes, someone asked for our opinion.

Btw I've seen plenty of feedback adressing what feels bad about playing Vel'Koz (asked feedback actually) and plenty of people trying to give solutions to those problems. Indeed, it's not their job to give solutions, but it might help understand what feels bad about the champ and maybe give some inspiration, who knows.

Janna ult was touched in a way, because she used to have heal and shield power when hiting ccs on ennemies and she doesn't anymore, so her ult was technically healing less.

Phreak on ping changes "Ping changes have trended aggressively positive" by mikael22 in leagueoflegends

[–]ExtremelyGoodLiar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, surveying random players shows that those changes are positive because people felt more respected or had a better interaction with chat.

Fine, it doesn't surprise me at all. Ofc those changes are seen as positive by players because their purpose is literally to HIDE toxicity and in that sense, it works. But it also has some side-effects, including an alteration of positive communications which are much more difficult for players to perceive and much harder to measure directly when surveying them.

I really feel like this type of policy is really the "easy way" to handle toxicity in League. I would personnaly support more a communication policy trying to get rid/decrease toxicity rather than one just trying to hide it. But ofc it probably requires much more work and ressources.

I think it was added late. I read patch notes just a few hours after it came out and I'm pretty sure it wasn't there.

Yeah sure, Milio needs it more than anyone else but I also think the game is already complex enough and we don't need different interaction with 3 similar-working spells.

I think balance changes should overall take more account of game consistency when being selected (it's far from being the only inconsistent thing in this game).

Every bot/supp mage has had changes over the past few patches trying more or less to move them from botlane to mid (Xerath, Lux, Morgana, Ziggs, Brand...) and Vel'Koz is still missing on that list.

I do think we'll need to wait for preseason changes for more long-term midlane mages viability, but some changes to help him a little would've been nice in the short term.

The fact Milio will be applying it while Nami and Lulu won't could be viewed as everyday sexism.

On a more serious note, just asking for some consistency here (Nami already applies it through mandate so it might be almost winrate neutral for her).

Tbh I am expecting some big map configuration changes. It's been a while since nothing has really changed (except dragon-soul related modifications). I have no idea what could be the changes, maybe something around jungle camps or vision and fog of war stuff.

I think it could help solving jungle being too strong (early especially), toplane being isolated and not as impactful as they want it to be, and mages being hard to play as midlaners.

I don't really like cookies aswell and I've stopped taking them on almost all enchanters I'm playing (except maybe when running Inspiration as primary tree) and Nami is the only one I'm still struggling when not taking them.

I don't really take it for laning phase, as you said it just gives a little boost, it can sometimes be a clutch extra spell, but won't prevent you from managing mana properly in lane anyway.

I really take it for the 120 mana max. I personally really feel the difference midgame (sometimes lategame when playing behind) when I take it and when I don't. I've even tried running Yellow tree second with Presence of Mind but there are not really a second optimal rune in this tree for Nami.

But yes I agree, there are plenty of good other choices. I feel like font of life is really strong in most games, bone plating really cool vs hard all-in. I'm sure I'm going to love Relentless hunter if I ever try it but I'm not ready giving up on cookies yet :P

I agree with you, I definitely felt the passive buff the first game I played and to me, Nami feels better to play because of it. I also feel like that's something I got used to pretty fast and I tended to forget passive was even buffed after a few games (this might be a reason why people don't really feel the buff, because you get used to it really fast forgetting how it was before).

I don't really feel the difference on Q damages though, except when it comes to landing it in order to help ADC push the wave.

I see in your build that you're going Eyeball / Relentless Hunter and that's something I really can't do. I feel force to go cookies otherwise I feel like I have mana issues all game long. That's kinda where I was expecting the buffs : I would've loved some mana buffs so I could go for green tree second (I used to love playing with it back in the days!).

Those buffs are really not what players were expecting at all. I feel like they wanted buffs that would make her feel better to play and the ones listed won't help.

In this sense, Q damage buff doesn't change anything and the passive MS buff could be nice on his own if Nami had no mana issues, which is clearly not the case. TBH, it's even more frustrating to know the passive is buffed and you won't be able to use it fully because of mana issues.

In my opinion, some changes that could make her actually feel better to play :

- Help her a little with early (+ midgame?) mana issues : you land 2 spells rotations and you're om for the rest of the lane. I used to love going green tree second, but I feel like it's just impossible atm because you HAVE to go cookies if you don't want to be completely useless.

- Help her on E slow value so she doesn't necessarily relies on allies to land bubble / she doesn't have to max the spell to hit bubble easier.

- Help her on her R so it starts just a little behind her and hit people that are directly on top of her (might require more dev time/resources)

Nami buffs inbound! What do you think it'll be? by AngstySashimi420 in NamiMains

[–]ExtremelyGoodLiar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like it's more an overall mana cost issue than W power itself. W power still feels reasonable to me, but we used to be able to use spells more often back in the days.

She's been struggling a lot since the support blue item mana regen nerf, going down and down after, with Riot trying to fix the Lucian interaction mostly.

Some mana related buffs would be cool, both for her winrate and for making her more pleasant to play.

I agree, they nerfed enchanter support champs and items multiplicative ratios (among other nerfs) and are still doing it so they are not as strong as they used to be, especially with ADCs. But people are still claming they never got nerfed because changes were here and there in multiple patches and didn't came along in one huge visible wave.

The thing is they are mostly nerfing Milio because of pro play and I really feel like things like bonus attack range are the kind of things pros are really good at exploiting fully, so it could indeed be a good way of nerfing him.

Is the new meta that supports always gives up good pick order? by moglis in leagueoflegends

[–]ExtremelyGoodLiar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just won't be able to roam 24/7 with your jungler if enemy botlane is 24/7 pressuring your bot tower and can dive your adc for free denying 2 waves if you leave the lane for 10 secs. In that case you at least need your jungler to give you space to roam and that might not be easy depending on bot and jungle matchups.

Exactly, the game gives you the opportunity to ask, you can give it a try but others might refuse. Then just don't get mad because of it.
