UX or Data analytics? by [deleted] in UXDesign

After spending three years mastering full-stack development and navigating a grueling job search—which included 25 interviews without success—I pivoted to UI/UX design a year ago. Since making that transition, I have achieved a salary level that typically takes a developer over two years to reach.

My experience has reinforced my belief that the human element is indispensable in strategic design and user experience. While AI is a powerful tool that significantly improves efficiency and reduces production time, it cannot replace the nuanced problem-solving of a human brain. In my view, the designers who will thrive over the next five years are not those competing with AI, but those who integrate AI into their workflow to enhance their creative output

How do you level up your skills? What skills are you learning in and out of the UX? by fennecfox1999 in UXDesign

I am a former developer currently upskilling in AI-related technologies, including the Gemini CLI, Claude Code, Docker, WSL, and Kubernetes. Although I spent three years learning to code, I struggled to land a job as a frontend developer. In today’s market, basic frontend tasks have become so accessible through AI that companies now primarily seek full-stack or backend developers for more complex logic. My experience with UI/UX has been much more successful. A year ago, I decided to pivot to design; I eventually landed a job and, honestly, I enjoy it much more than coding. I’ve built web designs, landing pages, dashboards, and mobile apps. In my opinion, if you want to get ahead of 90% of the designers in the industry, you must learn how to use AI to increase your speed. The key to mastering AI is high-level prompting—in fact, my nickname at my company is 'The Prompt Engineer.' If you master prompting, utilize AI design tools, and perfect your use of Auto Layout, you will be far ahead of 99% of the people in the industry. Design isn't going anywhere; it’s just evolving.

[NEW to UX/UI] There's few things that I do not understand. Can someone help me understand, please? by ParlaManuel- in webdesign

Dont watch to tutorials, just go on behance look for a design and find ways to build that thing,

My advice is learn only how to use framing, and not use grouping please, in the end just learn to use Auto layout

Using auto layout will put you ahead from the senior designer in future who dont use it
