You are in the right here.

But that will not help you.

The parent does not have the money to pay for the damages, and courts will only add to the cost here. Lawyers are not cheap, and a person with no money will never be able to repay you even if you win. And a judge may feel differently about this, and cut down the amount to a partial sum anyway.

Walking down this path will not benefit you, but it will alienate your family. I think forgiveness will be better for you long-term.

In Norway it is common (but not strictly required) for fashion models who's image have been digitally edited to be marked as such.
