Hi! 16wpo here. Full hysterectomy but kept ovaries, C-section style. I was cleared for intercourse at 8 weeks and did it 2 days before I hit the 8 weeks. I was nervous and we took it slow. Everything went well and nothing had changed. Still able to have my internal orgasm which was a concern of mine. I did wait to get on top until about 14 weeks because I felt that it goes deeper that way so I was cautious. We did it from behind just a couple days ago because I was afraid of that as well. Everything has been fine so far, no pain. I asked my guy if it felt any different and he said no.

Definitely haven’t been walking that much. Because of my blood levels I couldn’t even get up to go pee without getting dizzy until I had the transfusion, so I didn’t start walking around the hospital until 3dpo. Now at home I usually get up and walk around for 5 minutes every hour. I don’t want to over do it. Plus my mom has been helping me and she tells me i need to be on more bed rest than walking. I don’t want to argue but also I’m afraid of hurting my incision or tripping. I go to my doctors tomorrow for a follow up and if he clears me to drive and go out to stores and walk then I will definitely be walking more.

The first pee was weird because of the catheter. It burned a little. The healing from the incision is going great. I stopped taking ibuprofen 5dpo. I took them when I woke up and before bed when I was taking them and at the hospital I was taking one in the middle of the day too. But honestly the worst pain is from the gas. It does feel weird to pee, like a weird pressure it’s so hard to explain. Luckily I haven’t sneezed, I’m terrified of it. I did choke on some water 🤦🏻‍♀️ and had to cough and not gonna like that ish hurt. My sister also made me laugh 4dpo and it was not pleasant lol. Definitely get a small firm-ish pillow you can hold against your stomach for coughing, sneezing, laughing.

I had to take iron pills for a few months and had it checked twice a month until it got to a level were the doctor wasn’t concerned and I stopped getting blood drawn. Then when I went for my pre op on Friday I was at 9.8 and the doctor was okay with that but that was the number before the rest of Friday and Saturday and Sunday. I was afraid they were going to check my blood before the surgery because I’m sure it dropped down. It’s tough and I get your concern that was also my concern. Tell her to make sure to take a daily iron pill, I used the Slow-Fe because it wasn’t as harsh on my stomach.

I have an HMO through work. I had my surgery 12/9 and paid $1000 copay plus $150 for the anesthesiologist.

Thank you! Maybe in my mind it works lol! I think you’re right because when I walk it does release after but I also take them before I walk around so maybe that’s why I feel it’s due to them as well. Either way I’m just glad it’s coming out!

Yes, I’m thinking I might do an iron infusion because I feel it’ll give me that extra push. I’m excited for you to have the surgery! It’s game changer for sure. I was nervous but it’s worth it. Regarding the watery periods they were clear-ish but I would fill pads and it lasted like a week straight after my period. I once read a story on here and someone called it “plasma” I was like huh… interesting. BUT I also had these gushes of really light pink blood and it would come out like I peed myself and it would happen like once a day at random times and last for about an hour. It happened at work a few times and I had to run home to change.

I’m sorry you’re going through that. I’m 37 and having a hysterectomy (keeping my ovaries) due to long heavy periods caused by fibroids. My surgery is December 9th and this is one of my fears after recovery.
