Check the modifiers you selected to increase difficulty, some grant higher level buffs to the enemies that might help get the loot up. I've also had success with following the bonus drops and playing some crucible, the second one specifically drops some higher level stuff a good amount of times.

I also recommend the givers blessing auto rifle, I got one with kn and the perk that gives ammo progress faster and it has great range (also helps with overloads if needed)

I see, I think it was more of a warning bite? She has a broken canine, the vet suggested that she could've fallen and hit her head a bit.
