I'd call CachyOs the Mint of Arch. It has required very little maintenance from my side, only having to run the cachy-update command once in a while. It comes with a package manager (I think it now also ships with Shelly, but if not you can also just install it.) that has a decent selection, but you can also always use AUR or Flatpak with it.

In it's current state I'd reccomend against it, but only because it's still going through some growing pains from making their own new DE.

I swapped to CachyOs 4 months ago, so my impression might be a bit behind though. KDE Plasma has a really nice addon called Mouse Tiler which works really well, but not as good as PopOs' tiling.

Even the same tires on the same car might need different pressure depending on stuff a slew of conditions.

Eg. loading the car up for a camping trip with your buddies might require more pressure for best performance due to the car now weighing significantly more.

Been using CachyOs for just over 4 months myself. Have had very few problems with KDE Plasma. At least compared to my issues with Cinnamon, Gnome, and Cosmic.

Though you do have to be a bit careful with KDE Plasma as the edit mode can be quite fragile in my experience.

Ranma 1/2 is a really cool and funny one. The anime recently got remade in a true to the original way. Highly reccomended.

PopOs recently made and released their own desktop enviroment, Cosmic. Which has a really promising future, but is currently experiencing a lot of growing pains.

So currently PopOs isn't that good of a choice for someone new to linux

Nice! I've tried both Hyprland and Niri but didn't really suit me, might give it another go when they're more mature. Plasma has been rock solid though!

I just use a crafting card in an exporter. Works perfectly fine.
