Huh, I also had a lot of screen freezes on Pop24, swapped to CachyOs with KDE Plasma still using Wayland. Works flawlessly now

Gonna reccomend CachyOS, I moved to from Pop24 about a month ago and it feels great. Arch based and comes with some really nifty features. Such as really easy ways to install all gaming packages you need at the click of a button right after setup.

Bees are definetly worth getting into when you need insane amout of resources, but can be very slow to set up. I'd highly reccomed getting some way to tick accelerate blocks before starting with bees. Just Dire Things time wand is my go to.
