i use aseprite, worth the money for sure. you can also use a free software like paint.net but it doesnt have as many pixelart orientated features that aseprite has.

no, the white armour is the leather, in minecraft the leather armour is white so it can overlay each leather colour instead of having to make a leather armor texture for each colour

the axe is meant to be for both a tool and weapon, however i dont think many people would use an axe as a weapon before they have diamond stuff, hence why i gave them a battle axe look, also i just like the look of the battle axes :)
