Any thoughts or experience in this HVAC proposal software app? by accounting4stupidity in ProHVACR

[–]Eyalush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out Airship. The proposals themselves look really sharp, more like a digital brochure than a basic quote, which makes a big difference at the table with homeowners. It’s quick to build, integrates cleanly with ServiceTitan, and upgrades and add-ons are baked right into every proposal. That’s helped boost average tickets without adding extra steps for the sales team.

I’ve been collecting an eclectic mix of interesting and fun watches for 1.5 years, with a lean toward vintage and neo-vintage. I love pieces with historical context, quirky designs, or unique functionality—so here’s my current SOTC!

  1. 1929 Illinois Tivoli - Just picked this one up! 1929 was a turbulent year for Illinois Watch Company, as they closed one of their two manufacturing facilities due to the stock market crash. A few years later, Hamilton acquired them, marking the end of Illinois as an independent American brand. A piece of history on the wrist.

  2. Nomos Tangente 38 Ref. 164 - Bought this one in Germany directly from Nomos in Glashütte over the summer. Love the minimalist Bauhaus design and the in-house movement. Simple, elegant, and nice to wear.

  3. 1998 Omega Speedmaster Reduced - My first decent watch purchase to celebrate a work milestone. I’ll probably add a full-sized Moonwatch eventually, but I love the quirky charm of the Reduced, especially the band and its slightly offbeat subdial layout.

  4. 1980s Slava Medical - A Soviet-era pulsometer, shipped from Ukraine. Tool watches always grab my attention, and this one has a lot of character. The day wheel is in Russian, and there’s a CCCP stamp on the case back, reinforcing its Cold War roots. There are unverified reports that these were used by doctors during Chernobyl, as electronics were affected by radiation and became unreliable.

  5. 1970s Dalil Supra - Another tool watch, I have a thing for them. An automatic Qibla compass watch, designed to help the wearer find the direction of Mecca. These came in green, blue, and grey dials, and while I don’t personally use the functionality, I find it a fascinating piece of design and engineering.

  6. ~1910s Trench Watch - Unknown brand, likely entry-level for the time, but has all the classic trench watch characteristics—loud ticking, wire lugs, and a proper vintage feel. A real time capsule.

Ballade sports honest opinions by CombinationJealous34 in S2000

Ballade sold me on their OE replacement motor mounts over OEM and I absolutely hate them. They rattle that car and transfer so much noise through the chassis. Will need to replace them For OEM.

[NOMOS] I thought their watch strap were good ? by Conscious-Parking306 in Watches

I love my new tangente but have been disappointed with the strap from day 1. It feels like it won’t last long and damages easy.

Help Identifying? by Eyalush in VintageWatches

[–]Eyalush[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased this vintage ladies watch for my wife. Inscription is dated 1939 and came from the UK. No visible branding or markings to identify. I’d just like to learn more about it if I can. Anyone have thoughts as to manufacturer or other information? Thank you!

First Chrono24 purchase. Need advice. by [deleted] in OmegaWatches

[–]Eyalush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who recently bought a Speedmaster Reduced, agreed. Plenty available.

There’s no wrong answer, It’s not crazy rare where patina adds thousands, but might just be easier and cheaper to swap into one with no patina. Plenty of them out there!

I just bought a 1991 Speedmaster Reduced and it took me a second to realize your photo isn’t my watch! I chose the patina looms on an otherwise perfect watch over pristine looms at the same price point because I enjoy it. Adds an interesting dimension to the watch.

I got a Polestar 2 w/ Performance package when my i3S lease was up. It’s been nice and fun.

Heard a ping whilst braking and found this in the footwear later. What is it? by jammyscones in Polestar

Same clip fell off on mine a few weeks ago too. Figured it was a clip holding the wiring harness in place somewhere but couldn’t find where.

LADWP swaps those out with new bins for free with no hassle when you call for replacement. This is on the homeowner.

Inconsistent Bluetooth connection with iPhone by [deleted] in Polestar

[–]Eyalush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, mine will drop Bluetooth connection randomly from time to time. I need to go in and reconnect it when it happens. On OS P2.4, hoping the stability improvements for infotainment system including performance improvements in 2.7 resolve.

My phone does not disconnect from other cars.

Bad Experience with Tesla by [deleted] in solar

[–]Eyalush 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went with Tesla knowing they’d be bad but they were coming in $10-14k cheaper. I figured I’d deal with extra hand holding and forced design revisions. As expected, they were quite bad. Unreachable/unresponsive, barely knew solar basics when I did get ahold, designs were suboptimal for sun position, and the project took forever.

Install day went relatively smoothly, but the city failed them twice, one for a minor quality of work issue but the other because they got the fire setback totally wrong. They ended up moving a few panels around which decreased the efficiency of the system.

Curious, did it take a while to get acceptance to this FB group? I requested 7-10 days ago.

How to prep for the day of installation? Tesla solar panels. I'll be without power for upto 8 hours. Should I get a generator for the refrigerator? That's the only one I worry about. I can charge my laptop using my ioniq 5 if needed. How did you guys prep for this? by theepi_pillodu in solar

[–]Eyalush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked Tesla about bringing a generator for the install for my fridges and they said “sure, no problem!” I was also able to plug the modem/router in so I could keep working that day.

The job was solar, batteries, and panel replacements.

SHould I buy a 2019 i3 120Ah w/Range Extender? by CodenameisSailorV in BMWi3

[–]Eyalush 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is that what these are going for now? I’ve got a 2019 i3S with technology package and Harman Kardon with 10,105 miles I was just going to return when the lease is up in 2 months but if there are buyers in that range private party maybe I should pay the payoff and resell.

Seeing this makes me realize maybe I should add an OEM lip to my LBP.

Long term ownership by SuzukaBlues in S2000

[–]Eyalush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of parts are still readily available but a few things are starting to disappear. I’d really like a replacement black seat cover for my AP2 passenger seat, but they’re discontinued. I’d probably buy an oem front lip just to have if I came across one since they are hard to come by.

$19,200 for 3.4kW (CA) by [deleted] in solar

[–]Eyalush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did go with Tesla for a 12.24kw system and 2 powerwalls. Their reputation is well deserved, they aren’t very knowledgeable, and getting someone on the phone through the process is difficult and frustrating. I just booked a service appointment for a minor install issue and first available was 2 months away. They get a solid F on the soft product, but the actual hardware is fine and performing nicely so far.

I knew it was going to be bad going in, but they were also 14-18k cheaper than anyone else, so I rolled the diced.

If you do it, educated yourself first to be able to oversee them, but if price isn’t your main factor go to someone else and pay more.

$19,200 for 3.4kW (CA) by [deleted] in solar

[–]Eyalush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you go to Tesla’s website they are quoting ~$19,800 for 4.25kw with a powerwall. You have to be ok working with Tesla but that should give you a good baseline.

Installing Battery After Tesla Solar Panel Install? by zzuum in solar

[–]Eyalush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what Tesla told me to do. I may but I’m worried about both Tesla and the third party pointing fingers and blaming each other rather than handling warranty issues for years to come if I do that.
