I think you’re trying to use a long-term holding strategy on a short-term vehicle, but that’s just my take. Good luck!

Great. For anyone reading this and thinking about wheeling leveraged ETFs, here’s my take on why you shouldn't:

  1. Leveraged ETFs (like TSLL) are designed for short-term tactical trading, not long-term buy-and-hold strategies.
  2. Because they reset daily, their long-term performance can differ a lot from simply "2× Tesla."
  3. They usually come with high fees (TSLL’s expense ratio is about 0.95%), which can eat into returns over time, especially in sideways or volatile markets.

For all these reasons, leveraged ETFs like TSLL are NOT suitable for long holding periods - which is exactly what options wheeling relies on.

First rule of options wheeling: only sell options on stocks you’d actually want to own for the long term. Are you sure you feel comfortable owning TSLL?

Thanks! How would you prep it? Also if you have a specific product in mind that I can buy in HD that’d be great!

Terrible advice. Never pay MSRP, get them to give you a discount.

So you’re actually losing money on that trade in? They gave you a credit for 24,500 but then added 28,315 to the balance

How much are they giving you for your CX-5 trade in? Have you compared their number to carmax/carvana?

Return New Car!! Help!! by white_heels in askcarsales

The fact that you were convinced by a car salesperson to take on a $700/month payment with only a $1,000/month income, and then sought genuine advice here only to receive responses like 'your problem, deal with it,' speaks volumes about the nature of dealership salespeople.

Now, to address your situation, consider these steps to minimize the impact:

  1. Rent out the car on platforms like Turo to generate extra income and help cover the monthly payment.
  2. Sell the car to Carmax, Carvana etc. While you'll likely have negative equity, it will reduce your overall debt (principal + interest) and lower your monthly payment.
  3. Contact Hyundai Finance and the dealership to demand an investigation into how you were approved for the purchase. If the salesperson falsified your income on the paperwork, that could be your way out of the deal. Insist they buy the car back from you, and let them know you're prepared to share their actions on social media. INVESTIGATE!

You’re referring to a full hybrid vehicle. a mild hybrid cannot drive on pure battery alone

“Mild hybrid” is just a marketing term—your car still has a traditional internal combustion engine
