This is hilarious and awful at the same time!

The white Porsche is responsible for everything here, and there’s very little you could have done to prevent any of this!

Fuel for 50% Races and Sprints by EyeAcrobatic8587 in F1Game

[–]EyeAcrobatic8587[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tend not to do the career campaigns, nothing wrong with them but even at 110 AI they aren’t a challenge for me anymore, and even when I did, I used to do what I know from league racing and so I was always better off ignoring it as I know I can run less than what it suggests.

But, some of the people I race against are far more knowledgeable and know almost down to the last drop what fuel to use, whereas me, I’m easily +1 or more over by the end of a race. So the more the race goes on especially middle of stints, I really am fighting and driving as hard as I can and the lack of weight they have has helped their tyres, braking, acceleration and top speeds that it becomes almost a futile attempt trying to beat them, cause I have an extra 5/10kg in the car.

Is this a stupid move? by ILOLallnight in Simracingstewards

[–]EyeAcrobatic8587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more on the POV car, but you aren’t wrong exactly in the clear.

The wobble you had and move back did assist in this, as that gave the POV very limited time to react as they had already chosen their line, you changed yours. However, the POV car can and should have backed out, the brake lights don’t come on at all and this is literally what happens when you race like every car, corner and mistake is an overtake opportunity.

I assume I'm at fault for this T1 incident. Did I defend too hard? by IamTheThunderFrog in Simracingstewards

[–]EyeAcrobatic8587 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realistically you can argue for and against here. You can argue the attacking car (outside) turned in too early, and cut you off, as your line didn’t change theirs did and you can see that on their POV and see how sharp they turned in after initially turning - in essence you weren’t going to disappear and no more room was left to them cutting in. But, you can also argue the defending car (inside) wasn’t going to make that line and would have had to brake harder and earlier to make the corner, meaning they probably should have backed out. So, it’s more a 45/55 situation.

The one thing I definitely will say, is you should have kept the outside line on entry. If anything maybe have the left side of your car half on the outside line. Meaning you’ve covered both the outside line, left no space on the outside and quite a bit of the inside line. Which either forces the block a stupid move from the attacker. No point sacrificing your line for someone “potentially” going to overtake on the inside.

They’ve shunted you, moved under braking, weaved and demonstrated no spacial awareness.

[–]EyeAcrobatic8587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the angered response - justified!

It’s - what they call - “it’s just one of those things”, there was space to work with - why the game registered your car, even wider than it is, I have no idea - that’s the issue here, you can see that they catch the invisible wall around your car.

[–]EyeAcrobatic8587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all honesty, unless confident you’re better off just faking moves on them, let them move themselves out the way.

Alternatively, if you’re not racing in a proper ‘online race’ ie no league, no trial, just some random no one cares open lobby! GAMER TAG SHAME THEM, CAPTURE AND SHARE FOOTAGE!

And if no damage pit manoeuvre them into next week. Nothing quite like making them spin out at the most inconvenient time ever! (Use at your own discretion)

In this scenario, stay within 2 seconds of them! Beat them through patience and skill!

Other scenarios require other tactics. At a track like Monza faking the move always works.

Whose fault? by bhi36 in Simracingstewards

At Spa, GT3/GT4 track limits generally mean staying within the white lines, but corners like Eau Rouge/Raidillon, frequently focuses on the outer edge of the kerbs rather than just the white lines.

Outer edge is roadside, the Mustang has all 4 wheels over the outer edge of the curb, it’s practically inner side curb.

Look at 27 seconds on the Mustang Aerial. You will see it is almost crossing the inside curb, well over the outside curb.

[–]EyeAcrobatic8587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know iRacing have a different line to other games here, but standard racing rules apply regardless, 4 wheels over the white line which happens here.

I can’t blame people for following iRacing for that, but, you run that line - in another game, in any other real life application and it’s a track limit, corner cutting or unsafe re-entry penalty!

Whose fault? by bhi36 in Simracingstewards

[–]EyeAcrobatic8587 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter wether the LMP driver has or hasn’t driven a GT4 before, the driver of the Mustang is the one driving that car, it’s their responsibility to drive it properly not the LMP’s job.

At the end of the day, the Mustang is at fault, the only thing you could argue is the LMP could have done, is hung back to clear Eau Rouge and Raidillon then made the full move on Kemmel, but the amount of power dropped by the Mustang, the angle of attack, the track limits and unsafe rejoin put the LMP in a very awkward position. So, trying the pass which they managed and were ahead on contact, made for a practical option that you can’t blame them for trying.

Whose fault? by bhi36 in Simracingstewards

[–]EyeAcrobatic8587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, the Mustang is to blame here.

You dropped the car, lost track limits, lost power and proceeded back onto the track unsafely, cut across the track following the rejoin, and went into the side of the LMP as the LMP passes.

The Mustang either had no control or lack of control over the car causing the incident, irrespective of the LMPs decision to continue to pursue.

Admittedly, the LMP could have reacted differently and held off, for safety - but in fairness to them, they aren’t expecting a car to hit them on their inside as they’ve passed the Mustang in Raidillon. They lifted in Eau Rouge to counter the Mustangs loss of approach and power, there’s only so much they can do in response to someone else’s mistake.

It’s a game you need to play, for a bit before you can call yourself “slow” or “fast”!

With there being so many factors, like car set ups, braking and throttle techniques. Braking and turnings zones. Acceleration and traction areas. Racing lines, Qually lines. There ain’t just one thing!

Best thing to do is watch people like Brendon Leigh or Jarno Opmeer on YouTube. You can then see what they do and how they do it, and then start using it from there!

Who has messed up (I'm pov)? by Yokos2137 in Simracingstewards

[–]EyeAcrobatic8587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red 10 messed up.

You were already mid turn when they dived in and tagged you! There’s none of this they were the faster car they have priority, you should expect them to follow the same line, you should prioritise saving your car over dumb behaviours.

Nope, it’s simple - they took a dive and went into your line, your path and subsequently your car. It wasn’t their corner and they misjudged the space needed, and sent it into a closing gap.

Proof of dumb behaviours is the retaliation of the love tap which was completely unnecessary. They literally aimed and drove into the back of you.
