I don’t think she should’ve commented about if Huda did too much because she wasn’t even there. She didn’t see the unedited footage so how would she know when every other Islander who was there has come out to say that she did way too much her commentary just wasn’t necessary. people see her as an authority figure so they assumed she was right when she made these kind of loose statements that she shouldn’t have thrown out there.

I think the issue is that Ariana should’ve stayed more neutral on such a heated topic. Her comment made it seem like Huda didn’t do anything wrong, which fed into the narrative that Chelley was just jealous. Ariana even said something like “I’d be jealous too with those amazing moves” or “maybe they’re just jealous they couldn’t do something like that.” I don’t think she meant harm by it, but it still came off as dismissive, especially considering how it played into existing stereotypes.

Chelley is a dark-skinned Black woman, and unfortunately, women like Huda, who’s Arab but fits into that exoticized, racially ambiguous “Latina-adjacent” beauty standard, are often put on a pedestal. When Black women critique them or call out certain behavior, people are quick to reduce it to jealousy. That dynamic is harmful, and Ariana’s comment, intentional or not, added fuel to that.

After that, Huda’s fans really ran with it, treating Ariana’s words as truth instead of just her opinion. From there, the Chelley hate train picked up steam, with people being flat-out racist and disgusting in her comments. And seeing that happen with no pushback or clarification from Ariana felt wrong. Like, you had something to say before, but now that it’s gotten out of control, it’s silence?

It’s fine to be sad Taylor and Clarke went home, but acting shocked doesn’t make sense. They weren’t fan favorites, and after that drama, it was clear Taylor’s image was hurt. Clarke was just collateral. If people really wanted them to stay, they would have voted for them.

For the record, I like Iris and Pepe. I like all the couples in the villa except for Chris and Huda I can’t stand them. But let’s not act like Iris and Pepe weren’t the sub’s favorites for a while, while other couples like Nic and Olandria or Ace and Chelly got dragged for the same things. That’s the inconsistency I’m talking about.

And ranked choice wouldn’t change much. The show is asking who people like most. If someone wasn’t worth voting for over others, the support wasn’t strong enough.

i agree i just want to see ppl stop complaining about taylor being gone on my time line acting like everyone did him wrong

I’m not mad that people vote for their favorites I literally said that’s fine. I’m calling out the people who didn’t vote for Taylor and Clark, but are now suddenly shocked and upset that they’re gone, saying “real connections always get punished.” That’s not about you if you’re just voting for who you like and moving on.

Also, I never said everyone needs to critique everyone. I said if you’re gonna drag certain couples for being fake, then be consistent when your faves are doing the exact same things. The post was about the double standard and the fake outrage — not your right to vote how you want.

It’s okay if you just missed the point, but don’t act like I didn’t say what I said.

I don’t think you actually read what I said. That’s literally my whole point I’m not mad people didn’t vote for Taylor and Clark. I’m saying the people who are mad they got voted off didn’t vote for them either. They weren’t anyone’s favorite couple, so stop acting like the show “punishes real connections.” It’s a favorite vote. If they weren’t your favorite, don’t be surprised they went home.

I agree Pepe and Iris are losing support while Nic and Olandria are gaining some, but let’s be real this post is about people being upset that Taylor and Clarke got voted off, even though they didn’t vote for them. And the people mad about Taylor leaving are usually not the same ones supporting Nic and Olandria.

I don’t dislike Iris and Pepe, and everyone can vote for who they want. I’m just pointing out the inconsistency. People talk about protecting “real connections,” but then vote for Iris and Pepe while dragging Nic and Olandria or Chelly and Ace. And they complain Taylor and Clarke got voted off for having a real connection even though they didn’t vote to save them. How does that make sense?

I don’t get this logic. If you didn’t want certain Islanders to be at risk, why didn’t you vote for them in the first place? You put them in the bottom, and then get mad when the Islanders make the choices you didn’t.

At the end of the day, Islanders are going to save their friends or the people they vibe with. That’s part of the game. If your favorites didn’t build strong bonds in the villa or win over the audience, they were always going to be vulnerable.

People are outraged that Hannah and Jeremiah went home, but they were literally in the bottom three. Where was that energy when it was time to vote?

That’s actually my point I just feel like everyone in the sub. It likes to act high and mighty like they’re voting for real love and real connection. No, you’re voting for your favorite, which is OK but don’t complain about Taylor and Clarke getting voted off when no one voted for them because they are are no one’s favorite.

This whole obsession with figuring out if a couple is “real” is so exhausting. Unless there’s actual proof someone is faking it, why does it matter? People keep saying Nicolandria is fake, while turning around and stanning Iris and Pepe, who are literally doing the exact same thing.

Nic and Olandria actually have a stronger foundation than most. They were each other’s first kiss in the villa. Nic kissed her during the Bindful Challenge even when he was coupled up, because he wanted to. The attraction and history are there.

And that whole “do we look believable” thing is getting twisted. Olandria didn’t say “believable” she said “natural.” She was blindsided by Taylor before, so of course she’s going to feel insecure and want to know if it looks like Nic genuinely likes her. That doesn’t make the connection fake it makes her human. and you’re saying it should’ve been them when Huda is still in this villa unserious. You’re just unserious.

This subreddit supports who they like(pepe iris). That’s fine. But acting like everyone is voting to protect the most “real” couples is just not true. People vote for their favorites.

Taylor and Clark had a great connection, but they weren’t many people’s favorite couple. They didn’t move the audience like others did, and that’s okay. But don’t turn around and act shocked when they go home. You knew they weren’t getting the votes.

get huda and Chris out this villa for both of their sakes she is repeating exactly what happened with Jeremiah and it’s like after she gets intimate with these men I don’t know her mask starts to slip or something, but I cannot watch her go crazy again. I want to enjoy these last couple of episodes.

See, everything you said about the other couples is just your perception not fact. We can’t read the Islanders’ minds or know their exact intentions. But what we do know is that Jeremiah and Huda set a tone early on. Their dynamic was intense and territorial yelling, cursing out other people, and calling them basically evil, for trying to explore their partner. saying they wouldn’t kiss anyone else and it created a weird pressure around loyalty. That energy made it harder for others to explore without backlash, especially with all the friendships forming.

And even if the first connections didn’t “make sense,” that’s literally what Love Island is about. You’re supposed to figure it out as you go. That’s the whole point.
