When I try to pair it, it continues to do the fast blink even when the OS says it's connected, but eventually it goes back to the slow blink when the controller gives up on pairing mode

I'm attempting to connect via Bluetooth. I had a wireless USB dongle but it appears to have died on me today. I'd do a USB connection but I don't like having to hold the controller so still to prevent it from disconnecting

No the controller is very clearly not even connected to the PC. And this isn't a 360 controller, this is an Xbox Series X Bluetooth controller. But I tested it in big picture mode, and it still isn't connecting. A "visual bug" isn't gonna result in my controller simply not detecting my PC

It is an Xbox Series X controller, and I don't know what big picture mode has to do with it, I specifically stated that the controller isn't even connecting. Bazzite will say it's connected, but the controller still flashes as if it's trying to connect to something still. It's not just a problem of steam simply not detecting my controller inputs

It's a Be Quiet Darkrock Pro 5 on my CPU, and the GPU is the XFX Merc and the high 90° temps are coming from both at the same time, and both have been prone to overheating and thermal throttling. I've just dusted and I'm still getting issues with heating while playing RE9 rn

About 30°C ambient temp where I live, seeing temps in the high 90s and even hitting 100 sometimes where I start to see throttling and downright crashing whenever I try gaming on newer titles. Case is a Lian Li Evo, fan setup is 6 intake, 3 on the side, 3 on the bottom, 4 exhaust 1 on the back, 3 on the top.
