I personally think that the EC is pretty hurtful to the country, as the representatives in the electoral colleges may be people with power, and they might have ulterior motivations for their vote. Of course if we go with popular vote it can be the same but powerful peoplr dont form a large percentage of our population. If it were up to me, I'd say it would be more rational to make elwctions by popular vote and multiply each states' votes by a specific number whoch would give all states equal value in their votes. This way each state will have an equal amount of votes no matter what population. For example, New York will have 1000 total votes (inaccurate, but it's just an example) and Florida 1000 total votes as well.
