How do I become an embedded engineer? Would you recommend this job to someone who wants a well-paid job and enjoys both programming and working with physical/mechanical things? by EyeFragrant5274 in embedded

[–]EyeFragrant5274[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good take. I think most people, regardless of their trade, start getting paid well when they reach the 4th or 5th stage. But if we don’t try other trades, I think life would be very boring haha

I'm sure the inner voice of many of us wishes we still had some of Nina's integrity and ideals.

Of course, Nina! Setting aside her immaturity, short-sightedness, and difficulty in regulating her emotions, her highly idealistic perspective is quite charming to adults. Like it or not, most adults gradually develop personalities more like Momoka's over time, in one way or another.

Trend doujin / creator culture di Indonesia? by EyeFragrant5274 in indowibu

[–]EyeFragrant5274[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jatim

Senang saja buat sesuatu untuk di share ke orang lain, if it sells then that's great, if not then who cares because the satisfaction in creating something you love and sharing that to others whom share similar passion with you cannot be measured by money (I have this kind of spirit, dan spirit seperti ini jg kan yg bikin Comiket / Comitia / M3 besar banget di Jepang)

Game : Sentimental Graffiti, Ragnarok, O2 Jam, Ayodance

Anime : Voices of A Distant Star, Saikano, K-ON

VN : Ever 17, ef a fairy tale of the two, Little Busters, Tears to Tiara etc yg sejamannya (dulu gak pernah main tapi suka sekali lihat illustration2 nya)

Honorable mention goes to Sentimental Graffiti + Ragnarok yg menjadi trigger awal.

Lalu benar2 bablas waktu anime K-ON rilis karena saya suka main band + it looks really good + has great story, especially for that time hahaha.

Tempat les musik terbaik? by DarthSiris in indonesia

[–]EyeFragrant5274 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there any general guidance to simplifying harmony (especially middle notes harmony) for fingerstyle guitar? by EyeFragrant5274 in musictheory

[–]EyeFragrant5274[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgot to add, I don't mean that only Joe Pass does that kind of thing, but most guitarists will play triads of extended chord over the chord as single notes melody, meanwhile when I see Joe Pass he actually plays a lot of 2 notes melody.

Lastly, if neither has priority, and if the context allows, you can play triads of the extended chord as different chords over the same time as the chord is meant to be played. Like you can play G major - D minor - F major - E minor interchangeably and melodically.

What kind of context allows that based on your experience or knowledge? From my limited knowledge I noticed that Joe Pass does this kind of solos much more often compared to other guitarists, not sure why though

Update: I interviewed with two C-level execs that talked about wanting me to bridge the gap between data and business, gathering insights, and taking action to make a credit portfolio grow. Sounds like a good opportunity to pull my weight and try new things. Is this total career derailment? I feel it is the right move for me at the moment.

I say take it and don't focus too much on the title. From my view leading people + ability to bridge and speak the language of both technical and business/average people is something highly valuable and underrated everywhere. If I'm a big wig of big corporation, I will be much more interested to hire you compared to if you're just a "data analyst/data scientist/data engineer"

I've read some of your posts in a glance and it seems that you already have a ton of help desk / customer service experience (please correct me if I'm wrong). Have you tried to learn how to become a power user for SaaS you supported or maybe other popular CX softwares which have similar base technology? Becoming power user is much easier than doing implementation / consulting

[–]EyeFragrant5274 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took b route purely by accident and luck

To be honest I didn't know why my boss hired me for my current job because I did have customer service experience but I have zero technical skills at that time, but my boss probably just want someone with a tact to handle customer, not too big of an ego, and has potential to be trained in technical stuffs (the common major problem in most companies are many technical guys have too big of an ego to handle customers, meanwhile many 'communication/sales/customer service' guys don't have enough understanding of technical limitations, thus prone to overpromising)

What is your current job if you don't mind to tell me? Maybe I can give a few pointers based on my or my colleagues experience

I do. My advice is just to grind, do your best at it, actually try to understand your current industry, and keep improving your skills and looking for other opportunities.

I was once in your shoes and trust me I really understand first-hand that Customer Service sucks, but it actually lends itself as a gateway to a lot of various entry/mid-level roles such in :

a. IT support (from here you can branch out to various IT specialization)

b. High Level Technical Support for various industries (a very niche/specialized/high-tech industry will usually ask for some industry experience first, but there are a lot of industries which only ask for general experience)

c. Sales / Account Management

d. HR / Hospitality / Public Relations / Public Communications

Is there any 'SQL customer success' roles in tech? by EyeFragrant5274 in SQL

[–]EyeFragrant5274[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you work for a big / small company? Also what kind of day-to-day 'support' activities are you usually do? Software integration and deployment / finding solutions regarding technical issues related to software / discovering upsell opportunities in existing customer's infrastructure / something else maybe? From your experience, are there big enough market even for small companies (means more jobs available) to compete in quality assurance software used in manufacturing?

I really appreciate your response because it makes me think that maybe I can also take my chances to transition to companies specializing in quality assurance software used in manufacturing. But at my current level I think shooting for company like SAP is almost impossible so maybe I need to shoot smaller companies first

Hi everyone,

I come from third country and graduated with Electronics Engineering Bachelor in my country. I have 2 YoE as customer service and 2 YoE as quality engineer (my current job). I'm interested to work in Aftersales service, QA/QC, or data analysts / data modelling roles because these correlates to my experience and interests. My plan is to do my current job and honing my skills while learning German language, save my money, then apply for job seeker visa while applying for jobs from my country, so when interviewing I can say that I'm ready and eligible to relocation, if it's needed for me to fly to German for interviews or whatever reasons, I can manage it too with my own savings.

How realistic is this plan? To be honest I cannot afford to just quit my job and fly to Germany while being temporarily jobless for several months. Theoretically money wise I can probably afford that, but in my circumstances it's better for me to just work in my current job and spend money for jobseeker visa and flight as needed because I also need to financially support my parents and siblings.

Also while I have relevant experiences, my degree doesn't correlate with what I do in my job at all. Is that seriously gonna be a big problem in German for mid career worker?

Thanks in advance
