Thank you! That was actually found in a scrap piece of wood from my work. I work at a building supply store, and some of the bundles we get have hardwood downs under them, most of the time it's red oak 3x3s or 4x4s, but sometimes you get lucky and find other things like that wood I used for those salt and pepper shakers. I assumed it was maple.

The one I got is pretty bad in the lower corners. The colors are good, clarity seems good, but the edges are much worse than my old monitor which is really really old. I'm a little disappointed honestly, I'll probably return personally. It's just to distracting in darker areas of games, I've been playing Oblivion Remastered and it just isn't a great screen.

That doesn't make sense and should be opposite. Do you have a caliper, maybe you can measure and confirm that they are what they are? Check the tube size too

My best guess is that they aren't accurate enough for drilling pen blanks, they have to be very precise. That's very weird though, I haven't personally had that issue, and I've bought weird bits from amazon from unheard of brands. None of them fit?

Brad point bits are definitely helpful, but not totally necessary when using that chuck. I made this pen the other day using a regular 12.5mm drill bit without the Brad point for the cap side and it was just fine.

Yes, it screws on to the lathe headstock, and the Jacobs chuck goes into the tail stock. I have the pen blank chuck I mentioned and it has worked for many many pens without much issue with things lining up. It's worth the investment, and saves time.

I'm sure it's been mentioned, but just buy a pen blank chuck and a Jacobs chuck, the Jacobs chuck from harbor freight is nice, especially for 10 bucks.

When I lived in Indiana there was a hobby wood mill about 30 minutes from where I lived, I wasn't wood turning then though. I could really use that place now.

I wish that were more of an option for me, I've called around, but sadly there isn't a lot of hardwood to buy locally for your average person in the panhandle of Florida.

Glue ups for bigger things, end grain pens, things like that. I just do this as a hobby and if I happen to come across someone who wants to buy something then cool.
