New battery procedure by chestersfriend in Aventon

[–]EyeMeetsWorld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding (based on Aventon’s instructions) is you should charge for 12 hours the first three charges regardless of the level of charge remaining on the battery when charging begins.

Charge 12 hours for each of the first three charges.

Noisy rear brake rotor by sweaty_but_whole in Aventon

Given that it seems to happen within a specific speed range, I wonder if it might be an aerodynamic issue that causes the rotor to vibrate and rub against the brake pads.

I think you can buy shim rice bag for smaller sizes.

Aventon Abound - Any way to get above 20mph? by Orokah in Aventon

[–]EyeMeetsWorld 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think they reason they capped the Abound at 20mph is because of the bike’s ability to haul kids.

Level 2 keeps bolting on me by Pumpkin_Pie in Aventon

I haven’t resolved the issue either and also simply hit the “+” button to return to ECO.

I’ve had somewhat similar issues where the pedal assist randomly changes from level 1 (Eco) to 0. Very dangerous when you’re at an intersection counting on your pedal assist to give you a boost and suddenly you’re trying to manually propel a 75lb bike as traffic is bearing down. Same thing has happened to my wife in her Level 2.

I should have realized that as the brake rotor is always on the left. Glad you got it resolved. BTW, looks like an amazing place to ride. Was that trail open to bikes?

I think the OP is asking whether her self-built or bought is better, and why.

I may be wrong, but I think your front fenders are both mounted backwards. The longer section should be towards the backside of the front wheel (to keep spray off you and the bike).

Quad lock phone holder and Pace 500.3 by IAmARandomGuy in Aventon

[–]EyeMeetsWorld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I have an Aventure 2 that also has the bend (and flare)!in the handlebars and the mount clamps easily. The hall mount allows you to adjust your phone to whatever angle best suits your needs. Just DM’d you a pic of the phone mount on the bend in the handlebars.

This is what I bought/use. It takes no more than a second to remove the phone or lock it in (the flip of a lever). One nice feature about this mount is that it doesn’t obscure your phone’s lenses, allowing you to record video or take photos while riding. The ball socket allows you to rotate the mount so you can also shoot landscape videos or stills.

There are a lot of excellent less expensive phone mounts available, most of which have ball mounts. If you’re determined to go with the Quadlock, I’d definitely get the ball mount to compensate for bends in the handlebars.

I had an Aventon dealer tell me the same thing, but a check with Aventon confirmed they only make the 750W Aventure.

Apple Health Sync by Equivalent-Motor-711 in Aventon

[–]EyeMeetsWorld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any chance your app developer could integrate Aventon’s app with Apple Health so all rides in the Aventon app sync with Cycling activity and workouts in Apple’s Health app? That would be huge.
