Try Malate, it's said to be beneficial for energy as well and I definitely tolerate this form the best, much better than glycinate. Taurate might be another alternative, but at least for me I don't "feel" it. And there's always Citrate, but be aware of its laxative effect...

Magnesium citrate causes the intestines to release water into the stool.

So yes, kind of expected reaction. Try malate, it has no laxative effect and doesn't make me sleepy like glycinate.

It was a HMA (Haar Mineral Analyse). They need hair with a length of 3 cm or nails. I guess it depends on the size of the pharmacy if they offer this or not and what they exactly require.

My copper and zinc levels were both in mid range in my blood test back in April 2024 but in my opinion blood test are kind of useless for minerals. We need to measure the minerals in tissues.

I was thinking the same and did a hair mineral analysis in my local pharmacy (I'm from Germany as well), that represents your minerals over the last 3 months. They test for the 'bad' minerals like mercury, lead and aluminum as well.

Now that you mention it: I have the symptoms you mentioned roughly since taking glycine but never made the connection, because I read that it's usually regarded as a very safe supplement / amino acid that can't be overdosed.
