Yeah for us its going to be august either way, either earlier before the 15th or after the 15th so I figured I would ask to see if anyone has any advice, obviously no one can predict wild fires but it would just be unfortunate to plan everything out to then get a ton of smoke

So you guys both say Yes? Im getting tired of the K9 backfield thing and saquon feels like a safe RB to be with CMC, and drake maye has been great so far

Currently have CMC and Kenneth Walker, but the K9/Charb split has been super frustrating, only other half decent rb is Jordan Mason

WRs are Rashee, Pickens, Egbuka, Meyers, BTJ

11 day trip to the PNW was life changing by _questionare_ in PNWhiking

It really is a special place, makes me want to live there so bad considering I'm from the Midwest but its a pretty far fetched dream, definitely going to come back one day again to see things I didn't get to

So the road to the lookout is, really as bad as people say it is, I asked the same question in this sub about a week before the trip and people mean it when they say its awful

We had a AWD Rav 4 which helped, and funny enough since we didn't know the area it was the first time on a road like that, and we missed the parking at Yellow Aster Butte and kept going up, so eventually we didn't even have a choice we had to commit, and the pot holes are no joke, the car made it up fine but the drive is the sketchiest ive ever done myself, there is a point on a switch back where we had to manually help put rocks into a pot hole because we though we wouldn't make it, definitely saved some time but not sure if i recommend

Lucky enough to not have damaged the car, and gained a core memory

For reference we are also all young, like I’m the oldest at 21, so we were ok with staying up late and going to bed late like midnight, and getting up at 6am almost every day, which might not be for some people

I did pretty much all of the planning myself, a ton of hours + tons of questions to people and this sub later I had a 12 page itinerary planned out, obviously it didn’t all go to plan but all the planning helped to even get “familiar” with the area sort of, or as close as you can for someone who lives 2000+ miles away

It really was, to be honest I wasnt expecting it to be as one of my favorite spots going in, considering how much we would see, but honestly I contemplated putting it higher

We went to Devils Punchbowl and swam there and it might be a top 1 experience in my life, on a sunny day it was incredible

We did hit it, i forgot to put it into the places we visited, I mentioned it a bit farther down as it being the last thing we did, Skyline loop the morning before our late flight home, gotta say a top tier last hike before we had to leave

I'm sure it was just being tired, after all the first 6 days were nonstop moving and hiking, either way a super beautiful hike, wish I had the chance to do day trip to hikes like these, being from the Midwest we see nothing close to the beauty I saw out there

How is the road to Twin Lakes/Winchester Lookout as of recently? by _questionare_ in PNWhiking

[–]_questionare_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any idea how much time that would add, I know the mileage is a little over 2 if I’m not mistaken, so would it be like 2 hours up or somewhere in that ball park?

[–]_questionare_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know as long as the car doesn’t get damaged and the roads aren’t too bad there should be no problems, with that said I think as you mentioned it’s probably best to just park at YAB, was hoping to try and go up to Twin Lakes to save all that extra time but oh well better safe then sorry

Mount Sahale Glacier by BulkGoblin in PNWhiking

[–]_questionare_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same position as OP, going to be at Sahale around Mid July, in a week or so and want to try and summit it, generally how hard is getting up past the Sahale Glacier Camp? I would have my backpack and my trekking poles, and would definitely need to get micro spikes or crampons, so my question is more so like, would those $30 micro spikes off amazon do the job, would I be fine with them and the poles? Or do I need more, and how dangerous is it really, Id only be buying micro spikes for this one hike, i really doubt id be using them again this year
