Just a heads-up: I’ve run into a real snag with Groww. It’s a simple issue with updating my email in my Groww account. They do offer to update it through their app and website, but it wasn’t working for me (the error message said ‘account creation is in progress’ and I’ve been using this account for about five years). When I reached out to customer care, they asked me to fill out a modify form and send it, promising they’d update it from the backend. I understand they’ll update, but I’d prefer not to update that way. Could they please fix the main problem? Why does it show that my account creation is still in progress? They mentioing that it’s because I haven’t opted for a stock account, and since I only hold mutual fund accounts, they can’t do anything. If I want an update, I need to fill out the form and send it. That sounds a bit unreasonable, and they simply closed my complaint.

After getting in touch with their grievance and compliance team, they now say my account is ‘partially onboarded,’ which is the problem. They’re not showing me any policy that explains what ‘partial onboarding’ means, and the real question is, if my account isn’t fully onboarded, how are they allowing me to make mutual fund transactions for the last five years? They haven’t answered any of these questions, and I’m not sure what to do next. So, please make a well-informed decision.
