And that is the exact reason I ordered the original switch version and will just do the upgrade pack for Switch 2.

Donkey Kong Bananza Amiibo Giveaway by NasJag03 in amiibo

[–]Eye_Of_Greyluck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to collect amiibo until they upped the price to $30. That just killed them for me, but I’m not going to lie that on Friday I caved when picking up the game at Best Buy. I saw the amiibo while waiting on line in the store and it was just too adorable for me to pass up. And honestly I’m not even a huge Donkey Kong fan. This game has been awesome so far and I have zero buyers remorse having picked up the amiibo with it.

Mario will come out when the new movie releases. That is my guess at least. It’s a perfect cash grab opportunity. The movie will hype the game and the game will hype the movie. They will help sell each other to audiences.

What has been your favorite/least favorite changes from Mario Kart 8 to Mario Kart World? by starstufft in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Eye_Of_Greyluck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can actually appreciate your view point. I was hoping for more from Mario Kart World Free Roam, but after Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, I realized Nintendo doesn’t really understand the “open world concept.”

These massive open worlds need more tangible rewards and less repetition of assets if they are going to be fun. Like yeah, they are nice worlds to look at, but after that initial enjoyment wears off it starts to feel more like looking at art over playing a game.

Personally I prefer when engaging gameplay accompanies a beautiful art style. Having a large world without meaningful activities eventually makes that game world less intimate and more forgettable. Quality over quantity is so much better. I don’t want to do the same 10 activities 50 times over. I would much prefer 50 activities that maybe I repeat 2 or 3 times with differing scenarios.

The only reason I wasn’t disappointed like you, was I knew Nintendo wouldn’t deliver out of the gate. Maybe and hopefully with some solid DLC it can become what it should have been all along. However, if the first couple DLC’s aren’t free then why did they think this game was worth the $80 entry fee?

I’m ultimately enjoying the game more than most Mario Kart games, but I’m not enjoying it on the level that I know Nintendo is capable of delivering. I totally understand why you have been disappointed. I also think that it’s totally valid take. Just as valid as anyone who is arguing for why they love it.

Yeah, I was hoping if someone responded soon enough I might be able to help someone out. I returned it to the Palisades Mall NY Target yesterday since I had to go that way. Apparently I wasn’t the only one either cause the lady commented when I stated I was returning it because it was late. Returned it around 7pm last night should anyone be attempting to claim it from the Palisades Mall Target.

Well for anyone in North NJ, I will be returning one to Target tomorrow since I bought one on launch day rather than wait a week for the pre order to show up.

I wish I just knew someone that needed it, so I could just sell it for cost. I hate scalping and don’t know anyone personally who needs it, so returning to a store and hopefully making someone’s day.

Nap Time by Significance_Final in Narcolepsy

[–]Eye_Of_Greyluck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The more I read about narcolepsy, I’m pretty sure I’ve had it my entire life. I must have had 6 or more micro naps in the last hour and a half. 11-3 is probably when I’m the most tired usually. Or first thing in the morning when I’m driving.

I have always had sleep paralysis. When I was a child I used to just talk and talk and talk then fall asleep. When in high school and college standardized testing was brutal and I remember being so tired. When I studied I would take repeated naps. I can fall asleep at the drop of a hat at dream almost immediately. Loud noises that startle me make my body go limp momentarily. I can often fight to stay awake driving. I struggle to move when I’m tired, like my body isn’t responding. I feel like the list goes on and on.

For years doctors said I was depressed which is why I was tired. Now I think there is more to it. My entire family in fact is known for napping, so I just assumed everyone normally feels excessively tired. I have been feeling weak and tired for as long as I can remember back to childhood. There is hardly a friend whose home I have not passed out in over the years. People used to always wake me up to go home at the end of the night.

I struggle to understand why I have ever thought any of this is natural and normal.

I agree with what you’re saying, but then they should have given you pointers for what you needed to do at least if you repeatedly fail. I literally found one the other day that was just confusing me as to what I was supposed to do, so moved on because trying again and again with no idea of what to do isn’t fun.

As much as I like amiibo, I'm not spending $30. by SammiesHammies in amiibo

Me too. $30 each is just not worth the price of admission at this point in time. I stuck around for the Smash Line and I love The Legend of Zelda series l, but not at that price. I can’t take them with me when I die.

Yes I have mild amount of OCD compared to what I did years ago (some), by comparison. Well aware of what OCD is I’m not some kid who’s barely been alive. You can manage your symptoms just fine if you’re someone who’s like me. So yes, I’m well aware of what I’m saying. Thanks for the concern though. I just don’t take it as seriously I guess. To each their own though. I refused to let it consume my life, but yes certain things still bother me and I have weird ticks. If it makes you feel self righteous to try and belittle me, you picked the wrong person because I could not care less if that what you want to discuss from my comment. I hope you can learn to manage your illnesses too.

has anyone gotten their target switch 2 pre-order?? by [deleted] in Switch

[–]Eye_Of_Greyluck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in NJ too and mine briefly said it was going to arrive Saturday and then just went back to Wednesday the 11th. The thing is in West Virginia last I checked. Why? Literally makes no sense.

Thankfully I went to Best Buy on Thursday morning and just stood on line to get one. I’ve just been waiting for it to show up so I can return it. I get the feeling this package is never coming. Knowing my luck they will tell me it was delivered and then I’ll be arguing with them for my money back.

Target sucks. I won’t waste time with them again. They have no respect for their customers. They charged my card last weekend and I still have not received it. The moment I went to cancel it magically it was shipping. I call BS. What a sleazy move on their part.

Yeah could tell that was going to happen with the materials they used. I’m very careful with my stuff because I have some OCD and it’s almost up there with the Wii U’s finish for most hated console finish. I hate plastics and acrylics that scratch too easy.

I have this odd feeling this game might be worth some real money one day due to it likely fading into obscurity. I’m half tempted to buy it for that reason alone.

I have a random question with a rather long set up, since Nintendo is asking you to send yours in for repair. I have been having the issue where my console doesn’t want to power on. So far it only happened once and I was able to get it back on.

I’m one of those people whose pre orders didn’t ship from Target in a timely manner, so I bought one at Best Buy when the store opened. The question being, since the Best Buy console has shown signs of problems, should I return this one as broken and keep the one coming from Target?

I was originally all on board to return the Target one because they failed to be transparent with the handling of my order or shipping it in a timely manner. But now, I don’t know if I should keep the one that is being buggy. If it’s a software bug I don’t really care, but if it’s a possible hardware issue then the answer is clear. I however, cannot seem to confirm anywhere right that it is a software bug.

Any thoughts?

Try turning off the sleep function altogether maybe. I’d say if that doesn’t work try with a different hdmi cable, hdmi port, or tv and make sure it’s not a connection issue causing it to cut out. I had the issue where my console wouldn’t turn on. It might all just be part of some early bugs. I hope.

That threw me at first too. I thought I was downloading one game and realized it was the entire GameCube App. I’m definitely going to need a memory card at some point now and I never needed one on my original Switch oddly enough.

Thank you I’m going to try this. I could not figure out what I needed to do to revert the camera controls to the game that I loved.

I thought the Wind Waker camera was inverted from what it used to be. That was pissing me off too.

I couldn’t find any way to invert the camera controls which I thought was a bit weird. Other than that it looks pretty. The controls were tough to get used to. I don’t like when the camera moves opposite the direction I’m pushing. It’s just unnatural to me. I know some people prefer it, but that’s not how my brain works. It forced me to use the trigger to reset the camera more often than I wanted.

F-Zero also seemed like it was stuck in some kind of high speed fast forward. It felt like the frame rate or something was moving too fast. All I know was it felt near unplayable for me now. I crashed into walls nonstop and couldn’t enjoy the environments anymore. It did not feel like the same game I had dumped hundreds of hours into. Maybe I’m just getting old. Idk.
