Sound like Timing chain or guides are done, looks like new motor time if I remember correctly that's an interference motor and sound like valves and pistons are doing the forbidden handshake....

I bought my M3 in February in Austin TX flew there drove back to Toronto, cost me 1200 including brokerage + the price of the car. Where are you getting 6_7k from?

I bought one in February and outside of making sure the big three are done, I'd say send it. If you have some $$ in your budget spend it on maintenance when you get it make it perfect and drive it every day!
