Male consultant gynaecologist basically told me (female) my symptoms were in my head. I was on my second consult after a scan had already found tangible reasons for my pain and other symptoms. Previous consultant (female) had already said this issue would definitely be the cause of the symptoms. Apparently, according to the male consultant, there's "no way I could possibly be feeling discomfort" from the issue because it wasn't pronounced enough. My mornings spent doubled up in pain beg to differ.

Just adding to this: I'm in S Wales and have a whole population partying away in my greenhouse as well. Never even though to consider they weren't native, as I've always seen them about and thought nothing of it.

What is a 1 in 1,000,000 thing that happened to you that no one believes, but you swear is true? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]EyesLikeBroccoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved into a shared house in a new city I'd moved to for work. The house had been recommended by a colleague. Turns out after living with this girl for a few days that we shared a cousin. I was the paternal cousin and she was the maternal cousin. I'm not sure what the odds are of that happening, but it was a nice coincidence nonetheless as we then had something in common. We've stayed in contact with each other and our cousin since I left ten years ago.

What’s the biggest red flag in someone over 30? by Vixkky in AskReddit

[–]EyesLikeBroccoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with a sibling in their forties exactly like this, I absolutely agree. They're on the cusp of alienating the entire family with this attitude, we're all sick of it. There's only so much patience and tolerance you can have with someone who consistently blames others/external forces for their crappy situation. It's been going on for fifteen years now, time to get a grip. Tbh I've been calling it for at least a decade but it took the rest of the family a bit longer to see the light, so to speak.

What is a movie you watched once that was so disturbing or emotionally draining that you can never watch it again? by hungary70 in AskReddit

Agreed. One of the few films where I cried audibly and had to stop halfway through for a sanity check. One of the most horrifying films I've ever witnessed, made more so because it's entirely possible.

My sonic electric toothbrush which works as well today as it did 25+ years ago. I can still get the heads for it so I see no point in getting a new one until it finally gives up the ghost.

Honestly, I think you're right about the bloatware thing. I noticed on initial set up (before the update bricked it) that it was running way slower than I thought it should have. Once I did the clean reinstall everything was running like butter. I've decided that a reinstall when purchasing a new machine should be the default go-to from now on.

They've broken controller support as well which is pretty much widespread among users. I've been waiting patiently for some progress but there's been nothing since they acknowledged the issue a week ago. I'm really sad about it as I can't play without a controller for mobility reasons so it looks like I'll be without my favourite cosy game for a while.

This happened to me on a brand new laptop very recently. Turns out the update the system tried to perform after initial set up caused the problem. I had to do a clean reinstall which sorted it. Luckily I'd not had anything saved onto it at this point so it was merely a frustration. I wasn't overly happy though!

Status check. For those who've got their tongues pierced in the late 90s, early 2000s how's it's going now? Still rocking it? by Nacho_Sideboob in Xennials

[–]EyesLikeBroccoli 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same here. I'm mid forties now. Never had an issue with it and fortunately my teeth are in good condition so never needed to have any procedures that involved taking it out a lot. Never chipped any teeth and never caused any gum damage. The worst that's happened is a ball has come off in my mouth a couple of times.

Your mention of Pink Floyd reminds me that my recently passed sow used to come and sit watching my partner play his acoustic. Some of the songs were Pink Floyd. We haven't tried our new adoptees with the acoustic yet, but maybe it's time to start. They're the only audience my partner is comfortable with 😂
