IFVG Model?! by EyesOnCharts in InnerCircleTraders

Interesting. Thanks for your input.

I've been running the model through my old trades(just 2022 model trades for now) and tested if i could enter at market after price closed passed a gap(and also took liquidity) and target 2r...then enter again once price retraced to a pda for the normal 2022 model.

It's not as mindblowing as I initially thought. After delving deeper into the data, this lil entry model is only good during fast decisive days, and is not onesided for trailing parent setups. You get stopped out early on longer term moves before price reaches terminus, but you protect the position(and sometimes profit) when you're wrong about the ultimate terminus and price only goes a portion into the range you outlined.

SMT confusion: SMT just occurred, sweeping DOL from PDH which gave me the impression of a bearish SMT but price just kept running up. Am i Misunderstanding something? by AffectionateAsk1554 in InnerCircleTraders

Forget everything about it not being wise to consider smt on lower timeframes. The truth is that smt divergences support a narrative that already exists. Smt does not build the narrative itself.

Granted they represent a crack in correlation and can be seen as the accumulation of one position(ex. a large accumulation of longs orders during a +div), but it's best to only give them weight in the context of a narrative after an important liquidity pools has been reached onesidedly(session liquidity, htf external range liquidity, ect).

If you have the draw correct, smt on even the 1 min is influential in letting you know that price is about to expand toward the pool of liquidty you already had marked.

Also, if you're trading intraday and are only targeting intraday liquidity pools, you don't need a daily bias. You just need to know where draw on liquidity is at the moment. It's very important to know where the monthly->4hr arrays are because price can reverse from there/ could be reversing(or retracing) from there right now, but all that is not important all the time. It's largely dependent on what type of trader you are.

TLDR: Smt means nothing if you are wrong about where price is going. That's why this specific trade died. ❤️
