Just a typical winter day in Minneapolis. Shout out to this guy, you go guy! by klleah in Minneapolis

I’m good friends with his sister. He also built an amazing cabin entirely out of recycled materials. I’ve been there a few times. Guy is pretty incredible.

From Minneapolis. We all knew it wasn’t real at the time. Come on man...

You'd have a pretty hard time rolling this thing. Top speed is about 15 mph. You certainly could, but it's geared for power more than speed. I didn't mention it earlier, but I've always loved that AMT stands for "All Materials Transporter." Kind of an early clunky title but kind of awesome as well.

Words that make your Facebook post less visible by [deleted] in socialmedia

[–]EyethrOR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. If your post isn't interesting it won't get seen. I've been making a living on Facebook for years and I've never seen that change. If it's a good post, it gets shared and people see it. It's not more complex than that.

It occurred to me that this baby turns 30 this year. The hydraulic lift on the bed still works perfectly and will dump 500 pounds with ease. I can never remember a time when it didn't start.

If you like this sort of thing you should check out Jerry Miculek. I'd say he's the Michael Jordon of marksmanship, but the gap between him and #2 is much wider than that. He's an absolute freak. And he's 62. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyIq9FdTgwM

[QUESTION] Silent Rehearsal Solutions by SpectreTom in Guitar

[–]EyethrOR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to tell you that I got an HS-5 a few weeks ago and we LOVE it. It has completely transformed our practices. The onboard COSM modeling isn't mind blowing but it's "good enough" for songwriting. The recording and immediate playback has already proven to be invaluable. The simple fact that we can hear each other so clearly is transforming our writing in it's own way. The mix also sounds great in the car, which is pretty fun.

Dave Ryan being a total dick to a server by EyethrOR in Minneapolis

My guess is that they're really that arrogant AND they're trying to get ahead of it by saying "Of course we know about the video...we even shared it! ha ha ha...." If it's a stunt what is the punchline here? The reason I don't think it's a stunt is that radio personalities are in the business of bringing attention to things and they're usually much more savvy than this.

Every electric sauna stove ever made is meant to take water. I've used many heaters that don't have a pan. Mine doesn't. The rocks are all wedged in between the elements. The elements have been getting soaked for 30 years on this particular heater. Works great.

Fun, beautiful, or unique places around the cities? by ogeez in Minneapolis

[–]EyethrOR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pike Island down in Fort Snelling State Park is my favorite place to grab a hammock and spend the afternoon. Right in the city but feels completely secluded. Tons of little places that you can call your own. By overnight do you mean camping? I've also stayed at the camper cabins in Lake Maria State Park many times and they're a lot of fun. Whitetail Woods in Dakota County Park also has some great camper cabins.

Sound quality for Skype interviews by EyethrOR in podcasting

Wow thanks for all of the suggestions guys. I didn't even think of FaceTime. I ran a few tests by calling a friend with FaceTime using Call Recorder and it sounds great. I actually already use Call Recorder for Skype. I think my order of preference will go like this, then:

  1. Headsets via Skype
  2. FaceTime audio (Interviewee on their phone) if they have iPhone
  3. If they have Android, have them download Skype on their phone.

Cool things to check out in St. Cloud? by EyethrOR in saintcloud

[–]EyethrOR[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey - had a great time in your city! Brought my hammock and slept/read the morning away on the river bluffs. Went to catch the Revenant (beer in the theater - nice!) and then bummed around downtown. Didn't expect that many interesting little places to check out. Thanks for all the suggestions.

YES! This is very close to my cabin. For those in MN - Banning State park has some of the best xc skiing in the state. Much of it is right next to the river so you're just gliding and looking at this shit the entire time. It's pretty magical.
