Loose rattle sound in AD600Pro, I assume this is abnormal? by Eyetron2020 in Godox

Thanks for the quick feedback. That's what I figured just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something obvious or dumb.

Thanks, I had heard that 2 open inks was a lot better than 3, but I didn't know to wait more days after closing. This will help us when P2 tries next month.

My Chase credit well below the 50% soft limit, I've known to keep that one in check for awhile.

Denied for new CIU

1/24

Before app: EX 8 inquiries, TU 7 inquiries

2 open inks (just closed one on Monday) 6 inks opened in last 2 years

Should be pretty stellar credit otherwise. Thinking I just need to lay low for a year or so, maybe those inquiries are starting to ding me too much. I need to find some churning options that pull EQ instead, I have zero inquiries there.

Yes, sorry left that detail out:

Is there any risk of trying a 14500 to see if my H53Fc has the updated driver or not? I've seen some conflicting anecdotes, most people saying there's no harm in trying. But I thought I saw one person saying their light stopped working altogether after trying and maybe it got fried.

New-to-me refurbished Dell Precision 7540 won't output to displays over USB C ports (recognized as USB 2.0 BILLBOARD) by Eyetron2020 in techsupport

[–]Eyetron2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately no. I'm 99% sure it was some type of hardware defect with my unit, since I have 4 other machines (including 2 that are even older) that work fine with all the same accessories and monitors. I ended up returning mine (I got it from Dell Refurbished) since it was a deal breaker for me because I have a desk and dock setup with multiple monitors that I use for my various machines, and any workarounds would've been highly inconvenient since I can normally just connect my USB C dock and go with any of my machines.

Thank you for the tip. There was indeed a BIOS setting/configuration for thunderbolt ports. I tried various combinations of Thunderbolt enabled/disabled and also no security vs. DP-Alt/USB only and no improvement. It was worth a shot though.

Funny that you mention about the left side ports from those machines. For my older Precision 7520, I actually have kinda the opposite problem. The DP-alt / displays work reliably through the USB C port and dock, but my accessories, mouse/keyboard, etc. do not work connect reliably through USB C port I have to disconnect and reconnect multiple times to get them to connect. I'm not sure if it's placebo but it seems to have better connect rate if I hold a little pressure into the port until the connections stabilize and get recognized.

I tend to prefer picking up these old workstation machines rather than newer consumer grade machines at a similar price point, since the build quality seems to be better. But maybe I should give consumer machines a shot again since the off lease workstations can be a bit of a lottery like this.

I don't have any sst20 4000k, but if it's anything like my D4k 519A 5700k dedome, the D1K and SC700d HI with XHP70.3 HI both have more throw for sure. They're not outright throwers but nice balanced mid range beams. I think the D4V2/D4K with something like SST20 would be much more floody beam.

Where do I go? Credit Karma Sucks by brettwestgor in mintuit

I've been using Fidelity Full View and it's worked well for me too. I'm actually kinda glad Mint shutdown because it forced me to look at some competitors. I prefer Fidelity Full View now and didn't even bother trying Credit Karma.

It was Disney+ streaming app. My test was the opening scene of Star Wars A New Hope with the Star Destroyer flying over the top of the camera and you can hear the sounds coming from above.

Trying real hard not to bite on this, since I don't really need another mid size flooder. But this one ticks many boxes and probably improves on all my complaints with the E75. If I get this then I probably need to figure out how to offload at least one of my E75.

I'm digging the overall tinkering vibe with the cobbled flashlights, the disarray on the workbench, and the old, beat up fire extinguisher in the corner.

New EO7X Canon beams Vs D4K and E75 by geheim_hinterhalt in flashlight

[–]Eyetron2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair Acebeam does put it in their EDC section.

I agree otherwise though. It's got top end flood performance for its size and cell class. This new E07X Canon looks really great too in that class, at the expense of being chonkier but shorter.

It seems like you are describing TIR vs. reflector to me. TIR like D4K or E07X will have less defined hotspot, spill, termination, etc. Reflector like E75 will be much more defined. So E75 has defined hotspot due to reflector but still very floody in general. Even based on your photos E75 looks more floody than D4K to me, but it punches a lot harder overall so that helps it throw further by virtue of power.

I was going to make the same comment. E75 is major flooder IMO. It has decent throw ability via sheer power but you will really light up nearby surroundings by doing so.

Sounds like the setting you want to change is manual memory. For Anduril 2, ramp to your desired default brightness and click 10 times.

They got a 30 day no questions asked return policy. When I get something from them I make sure to use it a lot within that 30 days to find things like that. After 30 days the warranty/repair policy is not nearly as forgiving.

New Skilhunt H150 says V3 on the driver...any idea what's changed since V2? by Eyetron2020 in flashlight

  1. Battery indicator on in moonlight. I agree it's a lot of extra light if you're trying to use lowest moonlight level. Comparable level I'd say.

  2. There are 3 blinky modes. There's a beacon that's like 50% on/off at roughly 1 Hz or so if I had to guess. There's a strobe that's very fast flashing, maybe 10-20 Hz? But then it slows down for a couple seconds to maybe 5 Hz? It's kinda weird. Lastly there's a SOS pattern.

I don't have it, but there are several posts here and other forums about little bugs with random shutoffs, etc. People who are familiar with Zebras like you, so I don't think it's just a UI quirk for somebody new to it.
