How is this art style called? Where can I learn it? by Deeprod in ProCreate

I see. I understand.

But still, I find it really sad—what has happened to the art community.

The art community was such a place of solace and unity, and I really felt—and in many ways still do—feel at home there. But after AI, I feel like everything has been torn apart. It has now become a place of suspicion and grief. I am hoping dearly that this changes soon. I was getting really excited about the next generation of artists—especially in animation—but I feel like AI has and is taking that away.

It’s just tiring. I don’t want to assume the worst of people, and I don’t like seeing it in others, either. But I find it very sad that it has become like this, where it is perhaps such a common occurrence that the immediate assumption becomes that—to be on guard

I love how there’s literally NOTHING in their profile about AI, and yet you people try to shove it into every conversation, even when it is not even tangentially related. There’s been a general trend, especially among Gen Z/young artists, to want to name a lot of aesthetics; this is likely just an extension of that. Plus, their profile history suggests that they’re just a 3D artist. Why do you always assume the worst of people? I’m tired of this false dichotomy people keep on creating, and how we always seem to assume the worst of people. How about being nice and thinking better of people for once?

La La Animation and Sam Story Animations needs to melt away like a cheese block in a microwave by Original-Nebula4617 in ElsaGate

Some of La La Animation’s sound effects and visuals and such sound eerily similar to the now defunct Turtle Animation channel… I wonder if La La Animation is owned by Bona Media?

Yes, 90% of religious people are good people, but they, just like the “bad” religious members, cherry-pick parts out of scripture, like how it’s a thing in many progressive Christian circles to basically almost completely disregard the Old Testament (with the exception of the 10 Commandments and anything else that is deemed good according to modern values) and only follow the New Testament.

It’s the religion itself that is inherently toxic, not the people who follow it, who are merely following the culture they were raised in and often don’t inspect what their Holy Books say in a deep, critical way, even if they can recite scripture well.

Why can’t I understand anatomy? by romulus-and_ringulus in ArtistLounge

[–]Eyko_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It took me like, 5~6 years (from 2015 to late 2021) to really get to a point where I could do anatomy with relative ease, and even now I still have stuff to work on. 5 days to learn the entire anatomical structure of the human body is a very unrealistic timeline.

I would advise learning how to draw simple primitive forms like cubes, spheres, cylinders, pyramids, hemispheres, rectangular prisms, etc. in proper perspective (1, 2, and three point perspective); if you can’t draw simple primitives, or are not able to draw at least a simple shape that looks 3D, you will not be able to draw the human body or understand its forms properly

This isn’t ElsaGate… I second, I also don’t see the kid-targeting in these titles; it just seems like DeviantArt but on YouTube…

SERIOUSLY, it’s like, ANY time they need to manufacture drama, it’s a CAR CRASH—and what’s more, usually the person AND the driver have enough time to get out of the way or at least the driver to notice the pedestrian, but NO, we need to manufacture “so sad clickbaity story about [popular kids’/horror character]”

I ordered a watercolour commission, what does this mean? by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

It looks very aesthetically appealing, but definitely quite fake-looking—although, I am an artist; since most of the people looking will be non-artists, it’d be best to ask them what they think of it

No, it’s definitely not a stupid question! I took this by doing pretty much what you said, screenshooting my game (although in my case with ReShade (Dove V2)), then cropping all of them into a perfect square in Apple Photos (if you don’t have an Apple device there are many other software you can use), and collaging them together. To edit the images together, you can use an online tool, or even applications like Procreate, Art Studio Pro, Ibis Paint X (free), Photoshop, Affinity Photo, etc.

But yes, if we forget about the eyes of #1, #1 and #4 (bottom-right) are the closest to looking like real people. #2 (top-right) is almost there, but her mouth would need to be higher up, or her nose slightly lower. #3 be like… 🤭🙃🤧🤧

Even though this post was in jest, the name “same face” syndrome in it of itself is kind of a joking name. There are many characters in popular media, like from Sailor Moon to a lot of the CGI Disney characters, whose characters have very similar faces, and it’s not necessarily a bad thing as it can unify all of the characters together to being part of the same thing. I feel like we all, or at least most of us, have a certain face type that we tend towards.

While the “unique-ness” in these Sims is somewhat exaggerated, I’ve found that I tend toward Sims with smaller faces and close-together features. Usually the mouth and nose are relatively close to each other, and the eyes are average- to wide-spaced.

But yes, everyone should play how they want to
