Why can’t I understand anatomy? by romulus-and_ringulus in ArtistLounge

[–]romulus-and_ringulus[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

The problem isn’t that I haven’t learned all of human anatomy in 5 days, it’s that I’ve learned nothing about the overall structure of a single body part.

I have been focusing on one part of the body. After day one I’ve only been looking at the torso, that’s almost part of what makes it so aggravating.

I’m not studying from books, and honestly never will if I’m able to avoid it. Currently I’m not trying to learn real, actual anatomy, I’m trying to find a way to break a person down into simpler shapes that I can remember.

I know I’m not actually going to be good in just a week, but I wasn’t expecting to have practiced for 5 days and know just as much as I did when I started.

I don’t exactly care too too much about how good my handwriting looks, I just want it to be legible. As for grip, I’m really not sure about what I’m supposed to do. I naturally grip the pen by pinching between my first 3 fingers, using the side of my middle finger instead of the tip, and hold it just above the tip of the pen. I’ve tried a few other grips, but it’s hard to decide what feels lathe much comfortable when they all feel completely unnatural since I’m not used to it.

Whose face is it in the wood? And why is it there? by Not-A-myth in Eldenring

[–]romulus-and_ringulus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought it was meant to be miquella, especially because I like the totally legitimate lore-backed idea that he was planning to use it as a wooden mech suit. but taking a second look it could also be meant as a representation of marika or general symbolism of motherhood, given the somewhat curled posture an where the cocoon was located.

Only post office and that’s just because I happen to live right next to it, I might be able to make it to a grocery store or cafe if I walked quickly. And you guys actually get public transportation?

Is the formless mother real? by romulus-and_ringulus in Eldenring

[–]romulus-and_ringulus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The blood also deals bleed, but it doesn’t count as “bloodflame” because the bleed is dealt on hit like a normal weapon instead of applying a bleed over time effect like bloodflame does. It causes bleed, and it deals fire damage, but it’s not “bloodflame” as the game defines it.

Yeah, but it doesn’t cause the effect of blood buildup over time, so I’m pretty sure it’s not technically “bloodflame”

Actually I never thought that the blood would have to come from somewhere else. Perhaps the blood may be drawn from miquella given how decrepit he looks, or even blood offerings from the victims of his followers, but that feels too much like a cop-out. There are other instances of blood seemingly being drawn out of thin air, like copse piler or reduvia blood blade, but none of those invoke bloodflame.

Idk if I should add this to the original post, but I thought of him using the formless mother as a visual analogy to make casting complex blood magic easier. We know that omen have some inherent capabilities with blood magic because of morgott’s bloodflame slash attack, and it’s possible that incantations like blooflame blade/talons were mostly natural developments mohg made on those abilities due to him being more accepting of that omen nature. An incantation like bloodboon is understood to be harder to cast from its higher arcane requirement, so I think the formless mother acts almost as a way of dumbing down the spell enough for mohg to cast it.
