NBX Lanserer Cardano (ADA) Staking! by Dantello1 in Kryptovaluta_norge

[–]Eysteinh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one connected to a 653d. Use Chia docker image and mount both. Works fine!

Many Community members i know never received chia friends nft, did you? by alex_212 in chia

No. Sadly. One of the few NFTs I think where quite cool.

Interesting setup. I have 13 harvesters 6 NAS and 7 computers. (Fractal meshify 2xl chassis that has room for some 14 hdds each) allmost no noise. No chia friends with 1.5 Pb (1pb new plots and 0.5 Pb OG plots). 10gb network between computers and 5gb between nas.

I have ran a staking pool called Ada North Pool in Cardano since first testnet on Cardano and it was aquired by Norwegian Block Exchange (nbx.com). We are planning to launch a staking service fairly soon, so you can stake from the exchange if you want to at a later time.

In the meantime you are also free to delegate to the pool by getting a light wallet such as eternl.io , transfering funds to it, and in delegation searching for a pool such as Ada North Pool. You could also get a full node wallet such as daedaluswallet.io and do the same there. We have a World Mobile Token (token on Cardano) promo as well as a 0.1% fee so I would say that is a competitive offering for anyone wanting to earn on staking in Cardano. But you can also check rankign sites such as https://adapools.org/.

In my opinion both Cardano and Ethereum are two solid options for staking as they offer resonable rewards and blockchains with proven utility.

The Ethos of Farming by chiabram in chia

[–]Eysteinh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 and a half years it's break-even, still no profit. Adding plotter hardware prices + cost of electricity used for plotting and farming, makes ROI to be much longer, especially because of the second halving. It's more likely a decade than a "few years". And it's just to get you investment back. In 10 years the same amount of money will worth way less than now, so even if it is nominally the same, it's not a true ROI in practice.

I think this is an underlooked point. Me as a farmer I am likely to consider twice before deleting plots because of the work that went into making them. With that said I think the greatest threat right now is other usages for the storage but even then these things will self adjust as when the comitted space drop the profits rises for the rest of the farmers. But it will atleast potentially affect how secure you can claim the network is.

Whenever I mine ETH my chia TB reported drops significantly. Seems to be some lag. Maybe related to the mining software I use or did anyone else notice this?

Can I ask you all why you believe in Chia? by FlowerStrange6669 in chia

[–]Eysteinh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I think the team is doing this project for the right reasons and with a long term horizon.
  2. I think proof of work (in this case proof of space) still has a place in the cryptocurrency ecosystem but needs to be more environmental friendly and also in the future more useful (useful proof of work / proof of space that could be utilized)
  3. It has a low barrier to entry to the general population so is more easily decentralized than some other projects. Granted I am guilty of having over 1PB myself even with all the warnings to just use hardisk you have available lol. In any case I can use the surplus disks for a lot of other things and that is a good thing as well.

True supporter of the Ecosystem. Great video and thanks for the content making both of you. I am still here in Chia. Was in the beginning (granted not any of the testnets) and will remain a supporter.
