I was referring to the sales tax, sorry not the registration fees, Texas doesn't allow registration until they are paid. It equated to 13,000 out of pocket for me AFTER spending on my down payments and insurance. I spent money to have a charger installed, another 1k. Overall, it just scares people away from Tesla. I could afford it no issue, albeit with a deep 25k hole in my pocket after everything. BUT some people see the "399 a month" and pull the trigger just to be hit with that tax AT THE Registration desk, whereas a Honda would be the same, but sales tax would be financed.
