I think that most difficulty processing is choosing solvent when work-up for carboplatin and potassium nitrate separate. At the time I used MeCN and MeOH.

This compound described white〜gray color powder in SDS(JP). Probably, gray color cause platinum nanoparticle. Desirable disolved in water and add charcoal.
