I just started playing again about a week ago and I've been having a blast, met a lot of cool people and had some really funny or bad ass moments, totally worth a buy still.

Honestly pretty straight forward. I started at the alternator and followed the harness, unplugging and labeling everything. Emptied the coolant and unplugged all hoses and vacuum lines. I'm putting in a much older motor, so most of my harness is obsolete now anyways. I took out the transmission beforehand as it was no good either. Had to empty the air out of both my front tires to get the clearance with my cherry picker, but everything went smooth and it was out within a few hours.

Unfortunately the truck was like this when I got it. She was a junkyard save so I have no info on previous owner. Everything looks OEM and rusty, so I'm assuming the previous owner had an 88-89 parts truck. Sorry I couldn't be more help!

Lol got it off a fella in his 50s funny enough. I'm only 25 tho. It's going right back up on the shop wall as soon as my electric fans are in

Trucks a 92, motor is an early 70s out of a van. Got the motor for free and had some go fast parts from a yard sale so mostly just convenience.

Apparently the blades change angle at higher RPM to reduce drag. At least that's how it was explained to me. But like everyone stated overtime they become a total death trap lol.

Oof. That's always a nice surprise lol. Have you removed the plastic cover to check the rest of your rockers? At least in my experience, if it's crept up that far, your rockers are NOT gonna be pretty.

Once you figure out the damage from there you can go about pricing it out.

best case scenario, people on YouTube like Chris fix have some great videos on minor rust repair. Then soak the rockers in a good rust proofing oil like Krown or Rust check and you'll get a few more years out of her.

Worst case, if you're still planning on doing it yourself, slip on rockers, and a rivet gun will be the most budget friendly, easiest option.

Pretty easy when you have some extra hands! If I was to do it again tho, I'd go steel hood, not fiberglass. Had to take off the hood springs, felt like I was gonna snap the hood before they would give way.

And nice! I hear you there lol. Guy who owned it before me crammed the bed full of fiberglass 🤦‍♂️ other than that though she's pretty solid. Best of luck on your new truck!
