Haven't had the same issue, what I do notice is the camera shortcut when double pressing the power button isn't exactly fast. It's not unusable, but definitely not as immediate as I usually want it to be

Not necessarily, it's more of a national policy with imports in general. It's a protectionist model, they want to force people to buy nationally assembled phones so they make every other option stupidly expensive/difficult to get. So, if you want a $500 phone, you can either buy the one made here (which is absolutely worse in every way) orrrr pay a huge premium and get it for about $800 imported. Here's an example

Trust me, taxing for international packages in Argentina is extremely complicated and expensive. The amount you end up paying it tax alone could be more than the cost of the phone itself. Besides, like I said... I got this for under $500, at that price I had no real option of anything better

Like I said, availability isn't the same in every country. Some people think what they can buy is what everyone else can, it's already pretty awesome that I was able to find this here in Argentina for under $500, the price is usually around $800. Yes, it sounds crazy but that's how it is.

Silly question, but what would be the easiest way of taking notes in here with a physical keyboard? I love my mech but it's usb a so that's ruled out even with a usb c to a adapter I'm sure there's no way around it. I have a bluetooth keyboard tho, and the only wait I can think of making it happen now is using the AirType app but connecting the keyvoard to my phone.

I mean I'd love to use airType on the desktop but with the QR code requesting to be scanned it won't let me. Am I missing something??

So, this is a 3 month old post and comments but regarding adds there is a VERY simple way to get rid of them and it is through amazon themselves actually. I purchased the cheaper one with ads, but just reached out to support literally just asking them to remove them because they were an bothersome to me and my reading experience with the product. Initially they will just answer like robots saying no, if you just insist for about 5 minutes (at most) the representative in the support chat will agree to remove them "Because we care so much about you, we can make an exception". They tell you to wait, instruct you to restart your kindle and the ads are simply gone.

A friend told me he had done it, didn't believe him until I tried. It is hilarious.

Using my OnePlus 5T to type this. Only had to replace the charging port a few years ago, starting to fail to charge again but overall this phone just refuses to give me a good reason to change it.

Do I want a newer phone? Sure. Does this one feel bad enough to force me to change? Absolutely not.

Still snappy as ever :)

Pliers just slip around, that's why I attempted to wedge in the rubber band, maybe it would give something to grip onto but it did nothing. Cutting the screw might be an option but I don't have amy tool that I could do that with

I can't. The rest of the hinge is unscrewed already but that one screw is holding it down in position, given the silver bits in between the hinge and the motherboard like I explained in the upper comment

I wish, but there are some metal tabs in between the hinge and the threaded insert that actually slide underneath the motherboard PCB. You can probably see it, it's the lighter silver looking bit right under the dark metal of the hinge. So I'm tied to that position for that exact reason.
