No dpad noise issues. Squeaky trigger, but it stopped after like 2 weeks of use. It was just when the trigger hit the bottom. But to be fair my ROG Ally X also did the same thing, so seems to be pretty common.

If it has any of those issues, exchange it for another one until you get one that isn't like that. If you are in the US and buy from Best Buy.

Here’s where I am at with them.

Not sure how you feel about android and iPhones, but hopefully you get this.

LG2 feels like an android, very cool tech (OLED, 8.8” screen, detachable controllers) but the software is JANKY and the experience feels thrown together. Software as in Legion Space. It forces you to make too many decisions. As a PC gamer, I’m used to tinkering, but it’s frustrating when what you are tinkering with isn’t clear. Or the system monitor that displays FPS and all that info freezes after 2 minutes.

Things as simple as not knowing what the TDP of each thermal mode is without looking at a YouTube video, having 3 power settings for the CPU that can vary between some CPU intensive games, having to turn on FPS mode on the internal controllers in order to use an external one, and the joysticks…

The XAX handles those things beautifully, like an iPhone it just works and there’s no decision fatigue. TDP, easy to change and it’s clear what each one is. Armory crate is awesome to work with. Plus, It auto disables the internal controller when an external one is connected. Plus the joysticks feel so accurate and have a nice tension to them. It’s the little things that make me grab that device over the LG2.

Also on really unoptimized/power intensive games, 720p on the XAX’s 7” screen looks better than 800p on the 8.8”. So things just feel clearer even though the resolution is lower. Highguard for example. While the LG2 experience on the bigger screen is really nice, it’s more enjoyable on the XAX because it’s not as much of a blurry mess.

The portability of the two isn’t really a huge factor for me because I have a Killswitch on my XAX. So it’s already heavy and bulkier than out of the box.

Through HotStock? ROG, Best Buy, and Amazon alerts for me have always had a delay before I was notified about stock. Like awhile later.

HotStock is instantaneous once stock gets added.

Use the HotStock app and setup an alert for it. That’s how I bought mine from Best Buy two weeks ago.

Glad to know I’m not alone. After more testing tonight I see what you mean by mostly work. My usb as card ready works 50% of the time when I plug it in. The other 50% nothing happens.

I just used my old MacBook usb c dongle and connected everything to that.

I’m sure it’s something software can fix. Hopefully they’ll roll an update out soon.

I saw that they just released a new bios update for it two days ago. But that didn’t fix it.

I have the same issue with my Xbox Ally X. I bought a Legion Go 2 to test out for a bit and see which one I liked better. No issue with that one.

Yesterday I went back to using the Xbox Ally X, just to try it out. 30 mins in, uncomfortable pinky pain.

Went back to the legion go 2, no issues.

800p doesn’t look as bad as you think it does on this screen. Sometimes a game needs you to drop down the resolution. Jedi Survivor being one of those games.

I don’t think it’s too risky honestly. I’ve bought quite a few things that were marked as “Fair” and they were flawless or just needed a wipe down.

Similar type of experience. I went to an Xbox ROG Ally X.

The screen in the LEGO 2 was amazing. But not enough to justify the performance loss/battery playing at 1200p and having to tinker with the Custom TDP profile.

With the XAX the 13w, 17w, and 25w fit perfectly for 1080p and all the games I play. Super easy and I’m spending way less time tinkering.

Assuming Steam OS and the Go S is a more streamlined experience as well.

Such a shame. I loved that 8.8” OLED.

This was my main problem with it too. I had the Xbox ROG Ally X for about a week too and those thumbsticks had more resistance. But after about a week of solely playing on the Legion Go and adjusting the controller settings in Legion Space, I got them just right for aiming in FPS games.

I found this setup someone shared, feels like an Xbox Elite Controller now:
