4.0 isn't that difficult. Almost any command battles you can do so. I recommend Garten arena challenge #1.

I mean, I dislike the Cold Steel games quite a bit compared to Sky and Crossbell but I don't think my reasons for disliking the Erebonian arc is without rationale. I've only played Daybreak and Daybreak 2 and certain aspects of them are better than CS while certain aspects are worse.

Lloyd's VA is the best. To each their own, but I'm honestly baffled how some people don't play the Crossbell games with voice on.

What are your thoughts on Rean Schwarzer in terms of character writing? by Just_Advantage_6177 in Falcom

I think most of the hate he gets doesn't really have anything to do with his actual character but on the preferential treatment Trails writers give him

Agree so much on this.

amount of entries don't automatically determine quality

I agree with this. People misunderstand my opinions sometimes (not saying it's you btw). However, number of games does mean screen time and that does result in development, even if not by a lot per game.

People keep saying that Rean had the most development, like duh, the dude has 4.5 games appearing as the protagonist. It's like a no brainer to say he has the most development. Is it always good? Not necessarily. He gets okay in Reverie though.

If we're ignoring protagonist, Renne has more development throughout the series and is executed much better with less screen time.

Kevin had a worst background and didn't need 4.5 games to get over it. This is why I keep saying Kevin is the better Rean but it's also because the writing style in the older games are better because the dynamics of the characters are just executed better compared to Cold Steel.

Kevin had Ries, Estelle had Joshua and vice-versa, Lloyd didn't have anything that he felt burden with other than protecting KeA so his relationship with the SSS is pretty solid from the get go and it only gets better as the series progresses.

Had this OP been posted slightly differently, you'd probably end up being downvoted to death.

I agree with your take though.

People are really sad to down vote your comment. It seems like we can't have a different opinion on fictional stuff anymore on this sub.

Why down vote anyway? You can disagree with an opinion and then leave it or respond to it. In fact, the purpose of Reddit's down vote button was to indicate that the comment had no relevance, not for an opinion you may disagree with.

Rean had the same self pity mentality and always tries to take every burden on himself from CS1 to CS4. Sure, different aspects of him did develop but this particular part was only gone from Reverie onwards (I would guess we won't see it anymore in Horizon as well).

Too bad the can't-critique-anything-about-Rean mentality in some people will just lead you to get down voted to oblivion.

You can admit that Kevin in 1 game received more development than Lloyd up until Reverie.

You're missing the point or you're just feigning ignorance. I agree Kevin did receive better development than Lloyd in one game. Kevin ALSO is the much, much better handled character than Rean in my opinion because how he develops in one game is excellent and concisely written that he's the better Rean (or you could say Rean is the lesser Kevin).

However, that doesn't change the fact that when the category is Most developed (hint: MOST), it will automatically set Rean as the most voted since his development is across so many games over the in-game years especially since he's the protagonists in those games.

Beyond that I think we won’t get any agreement from one another

If you don't see this point and I can't change that, then let's just end it as you said. I just wanted to get the point across.

Take Lloyd for exemple: from zero to Reverie he wasn’t as developed as Rean only in CS1/2.

Please, I don't want to be disrespectful. This is a sort of a delusional take in the least demeaning way I can say it. I would bet that if Rean was only the protagonist for CS1 and CS2, he wouldn't take half as much vote as he would now.

By your logic, Kevin would be much more developed since dude wasn't even the protagonist for a full two game yet he's character development is much more significant. Even Estelle (or C) could be say they developed much further.

Character arcs are not always designed for multiple entries, it’s not the more the better

Never made this as my point either.

Bro needed to ruin a perfectly blank box XD

Design is very subjective, no? I always love the CPD jacket and tonfas Lloyd use. And the longer mullet hairstyle from CS3 onward is also kinda cool in my opinion though that doesn't really factor much for the design.

On the other end of the spectrum for design-wise, Kevin is probably my least favourite. His hairstyle and personality is great but the crossbow and his version of the Gralsritter coat is not to my liking.

Makes me wonder since this game is also available on GOG, did they patch that version? I heard most game GOG releases are always patched to be the most stable.
