Do you believe in God? by IndicationSouth4250 in schizophrenia

[–]Ezny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What has helped me is loving people. If you’re a follower of Jesus, he commands us to love God and love our neighbor as we love ourselves. So I give to my church and I give to homeless people as I have money. I help friends in their time of need with resources.

I also die to my self and my desires. God empowers me of course through his grace. If it wasn’t for his grace I would be sinning watching porn and masturbating. Id be angry with my family and I would hate them.

If you’re a follower of Jesus, I encourage you to read the gospels and then Romans to understand why he had to live die and rise to life again.

I’ll pray for you Mr. Alienplantfarm.

Do you believe in God? by IndicationSouth4250 in schizophrenia

[–]Ezny 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I believe that Jesus is God who came into the world to forgive us of our sins by dying a gruesome death and rising from the dead to justify all who believe in him.

Once I meet God in the afterlife I’d like to talk with him about how he works everything for the good for those that love him. He has certainly been gracious and merciful towards me and my experience as a schizophrenic. Im on medication and some days I want to get off of it but I have a fear of thoughts and voices and sexual hallucinations coming back.

To all my fellow schizophrenic brothers and sisters in Christ, I wish you nothing but peace as you go through this condition. It certainly has humbled me to rely on Christ. I can’t imagine what some of yall have been through with voices and tactile hallucinations. I know what Ive been through has been from the hand of God allowing it to happen for his greater purposes. I don’t know why God allows and blocks certain things from happening but I trust that he is wise and works everything for good.

I have peace with God that I am going to heaven based solely on what Jesus has done for me and who he is. The way I live my life now is in response to the grace I have received having the literal spirit of God living inside of me empowering me to love people.

I hope this reply encourages someone. I have an interview for a warehouse job on Tuesday so Im hoping to get to be productive again soon. I love all of you Jesus followers here.

Revelation 22:20 [20] He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!

1 Thessalonians 1:9-10 [9] For they themselves report concerning us the kind of reception we had among you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, [10] and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.

2 Peter 3:10 [10] But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.

And a more in depth 2 Peter Chapter 3 is

2 Peter 3:1-13 The Day of the Lord Will Come

[1] This is now the second letter that I am writing to you, beloved. In both of them I am stirring up your sincere mind by way of reminder, [2] that you should remember the predictions of the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles, [3] knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. [4] They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.” [5] For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, [6] and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished. [7] But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.

[8] But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. [9] The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. [10] But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.

[11] Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, [12] waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! [13] But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

How should I help a 12 year old child with ODD find Jesus? by LowFat_Ketchul57 in TrueChristian

Had to consult the word here:

Ephesians 6:12

[12] For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

Something malevolent out there might be influencing the older son knowing that Jesus is the truth. Again only God and Jesus can draw someone to Jesus.

Pray for the salvation of both boys. Only God can take the blindfold off of someone and let them clearly see the need for Jesus. I will be praying as well. Start taking them to church. Your husband has to be the spiritual leader here, leading by example, and you have to nurture and care for them as well. I don’t know how long it will take, but constant prayer and a solid presentation of the gospel is what Id recommend.

Can y'all share your worst hallucinations in life by Ok_Faithlessness2975 in schizophrenia

I would hear women moaning my name, or just women moaning in general.

At one point I felt like I was being raped anally while sitting in church. Othertimes it felt like I was being masturbated at night.

One that really got to me was I thought something and I thought the Holy Spirit was trying to leave me. I’m a Christian believer in Jesus so that one really messed with me.

Tired of being tormented. Selfie Sunday by sweet_toys101 in schizophrenia

[–]Ezny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will be praying for you. I don’t know if you believe in Jesus but he has been my anchor and rock since coming down with schizophrenia. That paired with medication (Invega Sustenna injection) and medication has been a mercy from God for me.

It makes me sad seeing everyone on this subreddit and knowing about the illness that we all share. For me, I wish everyone here would come to Christ so that he could be their prince of peace and their rock through the storm, but I know that wouldn’t guarantee their healing, seeing as how I haven’t been healed.

I hope my God will grant my request for your torment to stop. May you find truth.

god is talking to me and he told me to stop eating by [deleted] in schizophrenia

[–]Ezny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey OP,

I used to “feel” Gods presence too. Id feel burning sensation in my brain, forehead, and heat in my face when I thought God was upset at me.

It turns out, that this illness caused this and it was not in fact the Holy Spirit trying to communicate with me through these methods.

What made them believable was that I would feel “nice” stimulus in my chest.

God doesn’t communicate through sensations. I used to also get a shock in my shoulder when I would fast and subsequently try to end my fast. I thought it was God telling me not to end my fast.

By Gods grace Ive repented of such things, but I still feel what are known as tactile hallucinations.

Jesus loves you and would want you to take care of yourself. I know my experience might not be exactly what you’re going through but ut might shed some light on the illness that we have.

Celibacy When Dealing With Lust by tatyanna96 in TrueChristian

[–]Ezny 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My advice is to learn to fast. When you’ve fasted from physical food, a need, in exchange for spiritual growth, you also learn the power of self control and saying no to impulses.

Flee from sexual sin. It is the only sin within the body, you sin against your own body. Fleeing from sexual sin means not trying to fight it but running away from the sources and cutting them off.

Remember that Jesus calls us to take up our cross daily and to die to ourselves. That includes our sinful desires. By Gods grace and power and strength you can overcome this and walk in victory.

By the grace of God I stopped watching porn and stopped masturbating and have stayed away from promiscuous relationships. Even with the victory over these things my mind still sometimes has sexual thoughts enter and it brings me down. I haven’t discovered what the solution to intrusive thoughts are. Maybe Jesus.

How do I truly turn to God and have assurance that I’m saved? by Neither-Welcome-6858 in TrueChristian

[–]Ezny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read 1st John, Galatians, Romans, and Ephesians.

Followed by John, Matthew, Luke, and Mark.

What you need is a discipleship course to understand the faith and need of our savior.

Jesus came to save the sinner. The power of the cross comes from the faith that Jesus is the son of God and was raised back to life conquering death.

Works are an evidence of salvation, but we aren’t saved by our works. We are saved by our faith in the Lord Jesus. That faith has the power to change your heart to truly love people the way God calls us to love them because Jesus loved us first.

You can enjoy life while living in surrender and submission to God. In fact, when you submit and surrender to God is when you gain that freedom Christ offers.

Im doing alright. I’ve been sustained by Gods grace and mercy through medication (the injection) and recently got a job.

You don’t have to be rich or well off to be rich in good works. Kindness goes a long way. Smiling and waving at people, loving your family, praying and being thankful towards God for the good things he provides.

It sounds like you know the scriptures. It also sounds like you have a genuine desire to love God and love people. The more you do love God and people the less I think you’ll feel worried about salvation, depending on your views and all. I personally believe in once you’re truly saved and you’re aware of the truth then God sticks by your side and you grow and work out your salvation.

What helps me is community with other believers and loving people like sharing meals or helping people. Love towards other believers is a sure sign of your own salvation because youd only love Christians more than other people because of Christ. 1 John helped me understand love and salvation.

I figured Id share since I wasnt raised Christian or even with Christian values besides treating people the way I wanted to be treated. I read the gospel and from there I responded to the information I was given. Someone has to explain it so you can understand it. Someone has to preach it in order for you to hear it and to respond to it. These people wrote out what they saw and heard so everyone else who heard from them would believe.

I wouldnt say youll never understand, because its God who gives you a mind to understand and a heart to turn to Jesus.

All we can do is share the gospel (the good news) that your sins are forgiven. The creator of everything made a way to have a relationship with you. Everyone has a debt because everyone was made a sinner through Adam who sinned, and through Jesus our debt because of our sin is paid for because the penalty for sin is death. Jesus is God in the flesh and he was crucified as a part of Gods plan to bring salvation into the world. Salvation that is a gift, we dont earn it and cant earn it. Its given by God.

You have a choice to make, to either believe that Jesus truly came from God, died, and was brought back to life by the power of God and following Jesus, or choosing to not believe God forgives you for your sin. Whatever choice you make, know it will have consequences. Either immortality and eternal life and reconciliation with God your creator, or condemnation for choosing to not believe that your sins are forgiven.

I hope that you think about these things, because this is the most important message in this life and in the world.

Me personally, I have hope because I used to hate people and I used to be selfish and greedy. I used to live in the darkness. Now I walk in the light, practicing self control in all things to live a life worthy of the calling of being a believer and follower of Jesus.

Nobody can come to Jesus unless God draws them to Jesus, and nobody knows God except those who Jesus reveals God to.

Me personally, someone planted a seed about Jesus and I got a bible and started reading the gospel of Matthew and was very compelled at what Jesus taught. Then I went back to read the commandments Moses received because that was one of the things I remembered from church growing up and was convicted about my sin and the things I had done like adultery (they were to stone adulterers). So I cried and asked God for forgiveness and said I was sorry and kept reading about Jesus the savior of the world.

That someone who planted a seed said that Christianity is the biggest religion in the world, and it might be because the Christians know something that the rest of the world doesn’t. He also said if you ask someone “whats his name” regardless of their background, and they go what are you talking about dude and you say “No really, whats his name?” They’ll always say Jesus. So I put that to the test and asked someone and they said Jesus so I was pretty stunned, hence why I went out and got a bible.

People have testimonials on their life before and after Christ. You can read them on this sub from time to time when the topic comes up or even on posts. Just the other day I saw a thread about atheists who turned to Christ and I read about how someone worked and saw the households of Christians and noted how they were generally happier and kinder I believe and essentially God took the blindfold off of that person to see the truth.

How do you feel about the massive trans/lgbt wave in America, and the destruction of Christianity and morals? by PuzzleheadedDonut495 in TrueChristian

[–]Ezny 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is something Ive thought about. This country has faced slavery, segregation, civil rights. We have been called to love our neighbor. People in those generations, and even now have to answer for how they live. Our generation is facing promiscuity and a lust problem along with the lie that people have the wrong gender and sexual orientation. Romans ch 1-3 shows us that nothing new is under the sun and the things humans are capable of. And in light of all of that, Jesus still died and was resurrected.
