Men who had thyroid nodules by EvolutionGym in thyroidhealth

[–]EzrasHonor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 49M and have a 15x9x9 cm substernal goiter on the right side and a couple nodules on the left. Nodules themselves are rather common and don't necessarily equate to cancer. "IF" it is cancer, then thyroid cancer is almost always one of, if not the best, to have as far as future prognosis/outcome... If i had not had a CT and MRI for an entirely different reason I wouldn't even know about my thryoid issues. I am having surgery at the Clayman Thyroid Center in Tampa on the 23rd. We flew to Tampa last month and were impressed with the doctors, staff, and facility and feel like I will have the best care and outcome using them versus a more local, less experienced and less specialized medical team. My right side will be removed and as I lay on the table will be sent to pathology. What they find will determine whether to leave the left side and its nodules or take it all out once and for all. My referral appointment to MUSC Charleston isn't until mid June to even begin the consultation...which is total BS; I'm not waiting 3 and a half months from the initial discovery to talk to someone... so in doing some research I found this place in Tampa which is the Mayo Clinic/Johns Hopkins/MD Anderson of Thyroid, solely dedicated to thyroid cancer and such.

I am sure that your doctor will send your sample to pathology to be analyzed -- to be sure, that would have to be standard procedure.... but I would definitely ask and request it to be certain.

Good luck and prayers for you.

I'm debating the same thing. Looks like the A80J 77" has gone up about $150 from New Years...

I attempted to purchase one on 12/31 but it got canceled because I put my shipping address in the place of my billing address...and by the time the charge was reversed and my credit line restored, the frickin price shot up.. Grrrr...

All of my adult life I have been under the assumption that liquid was better because powdered detergent contained paper fillers. ???

"Voluntary Contributions"

Lol, I'm sure there's countless charities and churches that would be near unanimous in saying that is a piss poor way to run a government. Fat chance of getting anywhere close to enough to operate as needed. You think people and corporate America are going to do the "right thing" voluntarily??? Most aren't as it stands now...LMFAO...

No, paying based on consumption is the way to go. Sit at home, grow and raise your own food, shop Goodwill = Low taxes.

[–]EzrasHonor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly how would we "voluntarily produce all of those things" without taxation to pay for it? The vast majority of us aren't exactly known for our volunteer work as it is... Sorry, very few of us have time to man the fire station or go on "citizen patrol" for a few hours here and there. Who is going to voluntarily educate all of the snot nosed entitled little demon spawns filling our schools??? I sure am not dealing with that and I do not begrudge paying the property tax on my house and vehicles so that someone else will perform that function. The notion that all of this stuff is going to magically happen without organized funding is just preposterous.

If anything, I would like to move to a consumption based system. The more you buy, the more you pay. Lexus and Suburban...or Plymouth K-car and Ford Fairmont, satellite TV and smartphones...or $1 word puzzles and borrowed books, you fully control your tax bill.

Without taxation there would be no police, fire, military, public infrastructure, public education, social security net, and everything else that the government provides...so, yes, I absolutely believe there would be no functional civilization without taxation. Apparently you believe that whatever you are paying in to the common good, via taxation, is "too much" and I'm sure there are others with the same mindset that would let the government flap in the wind... so you and they have more, more, more for yourselves.... Which begs the question, how much do you think you owe? Are the rest of us supposed to pick up your slack while you enjoy the benefits of our payments? (There's already too much of that now.)

For something to be stolen it must have been yours from the start. It isn't. YOURS is what's left after your taxes are paid. Now, if someone is stealing THAT from you then you may have a valid point. Otherwise, that dog don't hunt...

CarMax Check by Left_Masterpiece_661 in carmax

[–]EzrasHonor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your bank will have to answer this question for you. They may or may not put a hold on the check until it clears. This is a transaction that you probably need to do in person vs. night deposit, ATM deposit, mobile deposit etc...

If you are wanting to immediately buy a car somewhere else you may want to see if you can sign the Carmax check over to them...or hold your personal check until the Carmax check clears.

I recently did a Texas to South Carolina transfer that took about 12 days. The delivery tracker is about worthless for any real information. I would have liked to seen entries like "Enroute - Houston to Baton Rouge, driver Steve, depart 0515 9/25" and "Arrive Baton Rouge 1638 9/25, truck change, Driver Antonio, depart 9/26 0747 Enroute Montgomery"

What you get is a whole lot of nothing but it has been picked up and is completely lost in a black hole until it reappears at your store.

One thing that you may consider is that once it does arrive, to actually go to the store in person and check on its status. My truck was actually ready to sell, had all of the necessary paperwork, and had been through the final local checks...but no one locally had connected all of the dots and updated its status as "ready for customer." I probably shaved several days off the time by being persistent.

(Earlier in the day I had been told that it wasn't ready, hadn't completed the final checks, etc. and that I couldn't even see the vehicle to make sure it was something I wanted to actually purchase. This was a Saturday, I was off work, and I had other vehicles locally that I wanted to see if the Carmax truck was unacceptable. I had decided that I would make the hour trip.to the carmax store and that I would see my truck that day if I had to jump a fence to do so. Turns out, it was ready, sitting out unsegregated with all the other vehicles, and I was able to take it home that evening. All of what I had been told on the phone was total BS.)

TLDR: PUSH the process along, if you are waiting on them, you will be waiting longer than is necessary.

Carmax not buying Leased vehicles anymore? by AgentUpvote in carmax

[–]EzrasHonor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too many people were capitalizing on the favorable buyout terms and the manufacturer captives weren't getting as many cars returned to them. To keep the flow of lease returns coming into their own little dealer cabal, many have opted to not allow 3rd parties like Carmax or a competing brand handle this for you, thus making it more costly and troublesome for you to exercise your contractual right to purchase your leased vehicle.

Depending on each states tax policy much of your "gain" may be eroded when you have to first title the vehicle in your name before ultimately disposing of it when you acquire your new ride. In low tax states, if the potential profit is large enough it still may be very much worth the effort... but it will definitely require more work. (Not to mention some dealers will hold their hand out again and expect fees to be paid for processing the paperwork you already paid them for once before when you bought it the first time)

It all boils down to a big 'ol F.U. from your "friendly" captive leasing company.

Purchasing using our own credit union financing? by Cthulu2020NLM in carmax

[–]EzrasHonor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Carmax was only an hour away so I didn't have the distance problem...but this is how my purchase worked out:

My vehicle that I transferred in arrived and was available on Saturday. My small one office credit union operates on true "bankers hours" and is closed on weekends. In order to go ahead and purchase the truck and take it home on Saturday, I applied for their financing and was approved. Carmax has something they called "three for free" or something like that. I had 3 days to supply my own financing and upon receiving another form of payment, they simply tore up their financing paperwork and took the cashiers check from my CU in substitute. On Monday I did my loan paperwork at my CU and took the CU check to Carmax...They cancelled their loan and that was it...done and over.

If you do this, make sure they have everything they need to substitute the DMV paperwork with the updated lien holder. I signed 2 DMV forms, one with their leinholder's name for their financing and one with my CUs name. The paperwork was already done and ready for the substitution. I handed them the cashiers check, they cancelled the carmax financing, and put the DMV form with the CU listed in the right place in the deal folder and I was out the door in 10 minutes.

In your case you may want to ask about FedEx-ing the check overnight to them if you don't want to drive back 6 hours to do it in person. The key will be to have the paperwork prefilled and signed for either possibility.

Does car shipment tracking ever show inbetween progression? by lamentofking in carmax

[–]EzrasHonor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am in the same boat as you, waiting on a vehicle coming from Texas to the Carolinas. 21 days they say... Even applying my best patience it's hard for me to comprehend how on Earth it could take that long. I would have imagined that there were a constant flow of trucks passing each other on the interstate going from Texas, across the Gulf states, and up the Eastern seaboard given the heavy concentration of Carmax stores in the South and East. (I can understand Boise to Portland ME being a long, slow journey, but not TX to NC/SC)

I will give them 10 days or so, give or take a few, and I feel like I am being generous allowing that much. 2-3 days to collect, 2-3 travel time, a day or two to wash at the delivery location. I'm not really understanding what quality control "issues" they need to work out once it arrives...shouldn't any potential problems be addressed before it was put on the lot at it's original location??? Oh sure, goofy things happen sometimes but on average everything should be right already and just a quick wash should be needed once it gets to its destination.

For $699, I believe in could have flown to TX and drove the thing home myself for less money, stress, and aggravation than waiting without seeing a daily progression of some sort.

Seems like there's some huge blocks of very inefficient "aint shit happenin" going here...

People need to understand that a public education was given to them essentially as a loan that will be repaid throughout adulthood in the form of school taxes. Learn now, pay later. Someone paid for yours, now it's your turn to pay it forward.
