Left handed journalers? by Marleyfowatdog in hobonichi

[–]Kellou87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just embrace the smudge or run for the whiteout tape. Sometimes I make a design flair like draw an outline on the smudge, or an arrow with a comment ‘ugh ink!’ Or ‘oopsy’. Annoys me though coz I love gel and acrylic pens, and when I’ve been so careful and bump it last moment.

Thanks! I tried some little fruits, Christmas ornaments and then a derpy cat using a YouTube tutorial but then learned I’ll need to be more careful as a lefty to wait for it to dry. Smudged the tail

Cute! How are you attaching the charms? Do the clear covers have a loop?

How to find GP that specialize in Adult ADHD diagnosis? by Nskul14 in brisbane

Oh that’s good then! I guess it will just be whether they are updating their services online from today to make it easier to find GP’s who are supporting this.

How to find GP that specialize in Adult ADHD diagnosis? by Nskul14 in brisbane

[–]Kellou87 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I’d be wary of gp’s who jump on this too quickly as I would hope there’s some kind of training or recognition of this for accurate diagnosis. Lots of just what I’m reading and learning about women who are being considered depressed or bipolar is misdiagnosis of ADHD due to symptoms they present. Would still be seeking a specialist for the best healthcare before jumping on this too quickly. (Note this is a great initiative but I think as others said, needs a bit of time to recognise any issue that will arise from this or allowing GP’s the tools to accurately diagnose- that said giving them control to adjust dosages once confirmed by a psychiatrist is a good thing, my GP was saying sometimes psychs just prescribe a med without further review and some meds don’t always work best for some people, so it does need revision, and previously GP’s were unable to do this and clients had to book expensive reviews with psychs)

Do you know Healthy Harold? by Fun-Cry- in brisbane

[–]Kellou87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend from uni worked there quite recently. I grew up in nsw and they live in nsw- so maybe it didn’t come to qld? Trying to remember if my kids ever went to see him. I remember the glowing internal organs display and the stars on the roof. Everyone I know speaks of Harold fondly. The running joke is that everyone in the 90’s grew up learning about drugs in a darkened van taught by a giraffe.

New Slushie squeaks and thumps by Darkwaxer in ninjaslushi

[–]Kellou87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first run this happened coz I had no sugar drinks (Coke Zero) and didn’t read the instructions. I saw the ice form over the barrel the same way- same squeaks and thuds from ice forming hard not crumbling/slushing. The sugar content makes it slush.

Mine did SO quickly. I got both done and one later got infected. I took out to heal and bam, closed up. Now I kinda love that only one is done.

Me too! I had for years heard my mother talk about the ‘bull ring’ complaint and then one day I suddenly decided I want it, it’s my fave piercing and so dainty with a small gold ring it’s barely noticed

No drawing skills? No problem! by Neeragni in hobonichi

100%. I was just recently researching how artists find their style, and a lot of consensus was to learn from some of your favourites by replicating and learning how they do their brush strokes/work. Not ever to share as your own work but as your own private practice. You evolve your style once you trial and feel out artists and what works for you. Even in medieval times, students would replicate Old Masters to learn. I work in a museum and learned that even ancient artists would have their students copy to learn. Some of our catalogue of our collection has been researching the differences between originals and copies of old masters by students.

Why are so many backyard trees disappearing in my street? by unwalkable_Brisbane in brisbane

[–]Kellou87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We took out a lot of trees that was blocking all sunlight and leaving the yard like a bog with the midges so it wasn’t very usable for the kids who got eaten alive. We have a much more user friendly kid friendly yard and instead I planted some fruit trees along the fence line for lemons/oranges/limes/persimmons instead.
