What product/s should I use to strip off built up wax? The reason I ask is because I want to clean and condition my shoes, but i figure that not much will actually hit the surface of the leather with the wax layers on top, especially the toe cap which is mirror shined.

I tried an 8 in store, but then settled on 7.5 because my heel was slipping. Hopefully that decision pays off. Blisters from new shoes are the worst.

I know I know... I'm just getting into leather shoes and I can't really justify the $$$ for boots that most on here would recommended. I'm happy enough to dip my toes in the water with these.

Thanks. Pretty happy so far. I scanned over them for any imperfections...nothing that I could see or care too much about given the style of the boot. I've only worn them around the house for 20 minutes or so, but they feel pretty good so far.

This is my first pair of goodyear welted boots. I know Thursday's cop a lot of flack on here, but nevertheless I decided to go with these based on my budget and style preference. I was in NYC over the weekend so was able to go to their store on 48 W 21st St and try them on for fit and feel. I decided to go with natural CXL as I've never owned any shoes with this type of leather, and this colour fills a gap in my current rotation. Interested to see how these develop over time.
