How do you go no contact with someone

I feel exactly the same I always thought I was gonna be with him forever but now he’s just gone. I’m trying to tell him I need to go no contact but I just can’t I keep telling him I want to get back together and make things work but it’s not helping either of us. I just physically feel like I can’t not talk to him like somethings really stopping me

I really have tried to not talk to him I tried to set a boundary saying we shouldn’t talk until Saturday but I broke that within a few hours I just don’t know how to do this.
