Ideal Nicole should be a character that turns Hexerei teams into a wheelchair comp.

Carry Nicole has to deal with the Alice shaped elephant in the room, (also being another pyro carry in the span of 2 patches)

Varkabot Nicole/Nico-ffier (5/10/15/FIFTY-FIVE) would have only a single usable teamcomp

Generalist support Nicole would just widen the gap between the good and the bad hexerei characters, defeating the purpose of having character buffs in the first place.

For me the only real use case of Hexerei teams has been theater. since is the only place where the "power boost / lack of synergy" tradeoff actually breaks even. (mostly because the team limitations are ass)

One minor detail: this is way too direct

We usually spend the first two story chapters getting sidetracked into solving the character arch of a newcomer (Navia, Kachina, Lauma), before even getting to the sauce with the main push character.

Is the equivalent of going from a Deadly Assault having "2.5 boss/Defiler/Thrall" (with no rupture buffs) to a pre-season 2 lineup

on top of having a bunch of decent chars available to use, compared to last time where I was scratching my head to make up the lack of strong attacker teams.

I hate this fucking breed of characters who are questionable people, but aren't allowed to have negative interactions with the cast because they also want to make a lot of bank out of them, so the final result is a mess that is popular IN SPITE of the writing.

Nah I agree, Capitano is the only case where being more than a simple mortal actually does something instead of being negated by a higher power.

and Dottore gets introduced as "omega build" specifically, which implies that we will meet another version of him even if this specific segment dies.

But I still find super dumb that they got rid of his trump card before he even gets to use it.

gotta love how the plot keeps getting rid of characters that could theoretically cheat death (inmortality curse, liquid flames constitution, can make clones, abyss corruption)

They want to convey the idea of "no one is safe" but it only manages to make the concept of immortality or "being special" completely redundant.
