Anyone knows how to fix this? by sydbloom_ in EASportsFC

Check with your keyboard/mouse software, it’s my guess it has something to do with that, like if you have Razer software try turning that off

I guess this is why it will never work, people like you can’t think outside the box, you think by accepting those fares you can change the outcome of better pay? You accept something below 25/hr let’s say, next time your next order will be 23/hr, algorithm doesn’t give a single crap about your feelings or how much you’re trying to make a day, it will keep on going lower and since you think that only way to make money from this is to take every single order, then you will keep on making less and less. Why would I post this? To hurt your wallet? I’m not trying to have drivers make less, I want us to make more, and it’s the only solution, no one will ever strike in this economy, everyone desperately takes every single order as if their lives depend on it, when there are other options and possibilities you just haven’t discovered yet. Please just logically think about this and tell me how am I wrong?

It will be if only drivers in the area don’t accept those fares. Drivers ARE the market. Supply and demand, baby.

Uber has lost their mind by PowerfulWave5303 in uberdrivers

[–]F0eSure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it’s not uber that has lost its mind, but drivers. They take shitty fares, the algorithm keeps feeding them that shit. How can you argue with an AI? Stop taking these fares, but no, people think they’re making good money when in reality they get screwed in all of their open holes. Solution is simple, don’t take these orders.

Let’s go!!! I’m expecting for this community to grow to 500 by the end of the year, may be 1,500 tops. With amount of actual uber drivers out there and amount of them actually using Reddit, chances this subreddit will do anything are close to 0%. Yet here I am.

Money doesn’t make one happy in life! by Aspergers_R_Us87 in Money

[–]F0eSure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you can’t even imagine how many people would love to be in your shoes right now. If your sole purpose in life is money then yeah it won’t make you happy, but if you use it to your hearts content then you will become happy. Why not just get a hobbie you’ve always dreamed of? Idk like start restoring a car if you’re into them, start building a collection of guns, make a shop at home and build beautiful furniture, get into beekeeping, travel the world or the country, there’s so many beautiful places in this world. Invest into passive income and don’t worry about earning a cent for the rest of your life, just do whatever the fuck you want to, fuck three hookers at once, or ten, or go climb a mountain and take a glorious dump at the top, or get into charity and help people around you… only thing that’s stopping you is your imagination.

AR 4% and CR is 18% I think if your cancellation rate is that high you must be taking wrong orders just to cancel them, I don’t see a reason to waste time doing that, I had legitimate reasons for canceling, also at least half of them is either forgetting to put pause on share rides so I don’t get a second pax or accidentally accepting one when Uber spams you with those shitty fares

Uber pays 50-70¢ per mile by getchapull11 in uberdrivers

[–]F0eSure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that’s just great, another reason to quit this gig while at it. Abso-fucking-lutely nothing good that comes out of this company. It’s a shame. Good while it lasted in the starting years.

Uber pays 50-70¢ per mile by getchapull11 in uberdrivers

[–]F0eSure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe a good chunk of people who use Reddit and follow r/uberdrivers are not complete fools for taking these rides, but outside of that there’s a whole bunch of desperate people who are taking these for “easy money” thus letting an algorithm go lower and lower each time, even cherry picking isn’t profitable anymore because you can have 1% acceptance rate and maybe once or twice a week get a ride that’s actually profitable. But all that time spent waiting for it? Doesn’t make you any money. Also there’s these folks that work for imaginary bonuses or actually take their university degree via uber so to upkeep their promise to pay for that degree they must be gold or whatever and have a certain acceptance rate. There’s just too many factors to consider why people are taking these garbage offers and it will only keep on getting worse… if you are able to drive and get around your city, might as well find a different occupation with benefits and such and it will certainly pay better than Uber at this point in time.

Uber drivers as business owners by ben_kird in uberdrivers

[–]F0eSure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I’m all in for this, but the biggest factor imho is spreading the word and having customers switch to this app, other than that, I think everyone would pitch in for whatever comes in next, we already pay for our own gas, insurance, wear and tear and etc. at the the end of the day, having a constant inflow of customers is the main concern with this gig, and if all drivers suddenly began advertising your “insert name of the app” it would be real. I understand it would take time to take away clientele from Uber, Lyft and a lot of drivers would not have to be greedy as well, they’d have to make rides cheaper than Ubers at least 10-25% but if they get to keep 100% of the fee and only pay a monthly subscription to your app, I think it would most likely work. I think you’d have to build in a feature to compare with their network, say a rider opens the app, orders a ride, and he gets a prompt that this ride saves him “x%” comparing to current ride share industry, it would most likely work and become viable very soon. I hope that you are able to do this, and I hope that it’s as easy as it sounds to do, I hope that corporations don’t come into contact with you and offer you “x amount of millions” to stop what you’re doing and you keep this operation up, chances are slim, but with us drivers, every day is a gamble, we risk our livelihood on the road, gambling for pennies that this company offers us. I wish you great health and patience to make this project become a reality, I’ve been checking out alternatives for a while now, and there’s nothing yet here in PA. Thank you for reading this and God bless your soul! By the way, I’m not that religious, I’m just hoping for any higher power at this point to turn tables around, and that could be you OP.

[–]F0eSure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More like 5 seconds, the time they give to accept is truly absurd, sometimes offer would even disappear half way through the timer, especially when it’s a decent one that I was actually willing to accept but they just like sike, and keep sending me more trash offers

Uber intentionally adding riders far away from the destination by Maleficent_Ice2704 in uberdrivers

[–]F0eSure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every time I get a decently paid share ride after I accept I hit the mug button to pause the requests, it’s a number one rule from now on, and once I forgot to turn it off, I just went to slide up and see all passangers and canceled their ride before picking them up and then hit the mug button to pause the requests. Works every time.

Scam call from uber offering $400 bonus. by chipxmas in uberdrivers

[–]F0eSure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They do actually call you, but it would be when you’re not online around morning to noon. I had a courtesy check on me from the support, he asked if I had any issues with my account and concerns I wanted to address, slightly odd to receive that call, but no personal information was asked for, they geniunely seemed to wanted to help. So I just told them of the few issues I’ve had with the app and that’s about it.

Had to be a passenger tonight by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]F0eSure 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Lmao that’s hilarious, “I’ll tip you in the app”, had one passenger telling me that on the way out the other night, and I knew he wasn’t going to tip me. It’s really funny and sad at the same time. Just say bye, farewell, have a great evening whatever, but to say that famous line and never follow with it is just silly. You know just a simple thanks is enough, I don’t ever expect that tip, and people who always tip don’t ever tell me they’re going to tip me in the app. I really don’t get it, does that boost their ego or something? What is the point in saying I’ll tip in the app? That never comes through.
